Chapter Thirty-Two: Attack! The Hard Meteor Belt!
Father of Ultra’s image had appeared countless times on television, but when he showed up with those distinctive horns, Xie Jing was still taken aback. Unconsciously, he recalled a song…
“I have horns on my head (horns), I have a tail behind me (tail)…”
With this thought in mind, Xie Jing nearly burst into song upon seeing Father of Ultra.
Fortunately, he forcibly suppressed the urge to make a joke.
Instead, as someone destined to play a crucial role in this battle, Father of Ultra treated Xie Jing as an equal, engaging him in conversation.
Perhaps in the Land of Light, the notion that everyone is equal isn’t just lip service; among Ultramen, there’s no hierarchy, and crime simply doesn’t exist there.
Of course, there was one exception—Belial.
“Warrior from Earth, welcome to the Land of Light!” Father of Ultra stepped forward, firmly grasping Xie Jing’s hand and shaking it vigorously.
Xie Jing responded with a smile, his gaze flickering toward the three thousand Ultraman warriors standing behind Father of Ultra, each unique in appearance.
Many familiar faces were among them: Jack, Ace, Seven, and others he had seen before, all standing tall, their radiance gathering into a tremendous surge of energy.
This was the Land of Light’s answer to him, and the source of Xie Jing’s confidence.
“Autopace has always been the enemy of the Land of Light, but its methods of concealment are so skillful that for years we’ve never discovered its true location,” Father of Ultra sighed, looking at Xie Jing.
“Until Ultraman met you—and your target turned out to be Autopace as well, especially since you possess the Cosmic Compass!”
“This is destiny! The universe has decreed that Autopace must perish!”
Xie Jing stroked his chin, thinking that he only wanted to complete his mission.
“The King of Ultra is already on his way back. We just need to leave Ultra symbols for him along the route. Now, let’s set out! Find and defeat Autopace!”
Father of Ultra’s words brimmed with fighting spirit, and the Ultramen behind him were equally fired up, the atmosphere growing more intense.
Xie Jing wasn’t easily swayed by such fervor, but he still took out the Cosmic Compass.
“Search for Autopace!”
No sooner had he spoken than a blinding white light burst forth from the compass, a vast star map appearing above it. Clear as day, it showed Xie Jing’s location in the M78 Nebula.
On the map, not far from M78, there was a region of meteorites where a red symbol flashed rapidly.
Father of Ultra instantly recognized the place: “It’s the Had Star Meteor Belt! That’s where the most planets have fallen, nothing but meteorites. Is Autopace really there?!”
The star map gradually faded, transforming into an arrow that hung in the sky.
“It seems there’s no mistake! Autopace may truly be in the Had Meteor Belt. I never imagined it would dare—Had is just five thousand light-years from the Land of Light!” Father of Ultra sounded incredulous.
“The Cosmic Compass will lead us to our foe!” Xie Jing then asked, “When will the King of Ultra arrive?”
Father of Taro shook his head, replying, “The king’s movements are mysterious and unpredictable; we don’t know his whereabouts.”
“In that case, let’s depart now!”
“Agreed!” Father of Ultra’s aura shifted dramatically, as if light were about to burst forth from his body.
“Ultraman warriors! Evil forces are using deceit and trickery to slaughter innocent lives! We’ve let them escape too many times! This time, we will not let them get away!”
“Light will always triumph over darkness!”
All the Ultramen erupted with dazzling brilliance, their voices resounding like thunder: “Light will always triumph over darkness!”
At Father of Ultra’s command, they all soared into the air, flying toward the direction indicated by the Cosmic Compass.
Xie Jing hurried to keep up, flying beside Father of Ultra and glancing at the grand procession beside him, unable to contain his own excitement.
Such a spectacular sight—few could ever witness it. Xie Jing vaguely remembered a similar scene in the Zero movie’s final battle against Belial.
But when you are truly immersed in it, part of the action, the feeling is infinitely deeper.
The power of light seemed to cloak every Ultraman in robes of radiance, and as they passed through cosmic dust formed from fallen Ultraman remains, it felt as if the spirits of those sacrificed whispered encouragement in their ears.
Speed increased again and again. Ahead, hundreds of Ultraman warriors acted in unison, instantly opening a cosmic channel wide enough for three thousand warriors. Without hesitation, they followed the compass’s direction and surged through.
“The Had Meteor Belt is treacherous; some leftover energies from strange planets may form miniature vortices, like black holes. Stay close—don’t stray from the group!”
Father of Ultra’s voice echoed in Xie Jing’s ear.
“Understood! But if we advance like this, won’t Autopace notice and flee before we arrive?” Xie Jing voiced his concern.
“We will surround the entire Had region in advance, setting up Ultra Light Matrices. Without an Ultra mark, no one will escape!”
Seeing that the Land of Light had prepared thoroughly, Xie Jing set aside his worries and charged ahead with the group.
When they were still fifty light-years from Had, a command rang out. All Ultramen split apart, their radiant aura dissipating. Then, five hundred Ultramen, each holding a blue crystal pillar, silently flew toward Had.
After waiting for half an hour, the entire perimeter of Had suddenly lit up with a ghostly blue glow. Father of Ultra, Xie Jing, and the remaining twenty-five hundred Ultraman warriors began their charge once more.
No detours, no hesitation—whatever lay ahead, meteorite or otherwise, an Ultraman would step forward and pulverize it into cosmic dust.
The force of the group was unstoppable, their brilliance illuminating the region for all creatures nearby to see.
After advancing for more than ten minutes, they finally came under attack.
Creatures lurking behind meteorites sprang forth—laser beams, flames, frost, breath attacks of all kinds rained down upon the warriors.
Ultraman fighters around them struck various poses, beams of light in every hue, like a dragon’s claws, easily dispelling the assaults and pushing forward, obliterating countless meteorites and enemies in their wake.
A single Ultraman was formidable, but could be defeated; yet when thousands acted together, regular cosmic monsters or super beasts were as helpless as newborn infants, fragile beyond compare.
They flew on for some distance, until at the edge of a vast, darkness-shrouded space, all the Ultramen stopped.
