For an entire day, the four of them first visited IKEA, then the flower and bird market. Thankfully, everything was delivered to their door; otherwise, with just the four of them, it would have been impossible to carry it all back.
By six in the evening, the items had arrived and were piled in the living room. They went out for dinner, then returned to arrange their rooms. During this time, Lu Yu sent a message to Shi Zixuan, letting her know he wouldn’t be coming home that night.
After a hurried meal, they returned home, and Zhang Kexin could hardly wait to start decorating the spacious living room.
...
The once empty living room was now filled with furniture, decorations, and greenery, making it feel much more comfortable. Colorful ornamental fish swam under the lights, and the transparent fiberglass flooring rippled with each step. Various accessories added to the dazzling beauty.
Once the living room was set up, Lu Yu and Chen Xiaofei moved to the other side of the living room to arrange their bedrooms, bedding, and other decorations. It took considerable effort to get everything in order. Then, noticing the empty wine cabinet and fridge, they headed out to the supermarket.
Being right next to Shu Yin University, there were plenty of shops and supermarkets nearby. They returned with bags large and small, put everything away, and finally rested on lounge chairs on the small sandy area at the living room’s edge, sipping iced drinks.
Artificial plastic palm trees looked just like the real thing. Lying back on the lounge chairs, gazing at the pale blue-lit floor, truly evoked the feeling of a beach holiday.
...
After painstakingly decorating the music room, Zhang Kexin emerged to find Lu Yu and Chen Xiaofei lounging on the beach chairs, enjoying iced drinks in perfect comfort.
She stood stunned for a moment before gritting her teeth and confronting them, accusing them of being too much—she, as a girl, was exhausted with aching legs and waist, while these two lazy scoundrels lounged nearby.
Zhang Kexin walked up to them.
“Is this chair comfortable to lie on or not?” she asked.
Chen Xiaofei, seeing her expression, said nothing, while Lu Yu glanced at her.
“Tsk, it’s alright. It’d be perfect with two bikini-clad ladies,” he replied.
Zhang Kexin ground her teeth. “Lu, how can you be so lazy? Does your conscience not hurt?!”
Lu Yu answered, “Why would my conscience hurt?”
Zhang Kexin pressed, “Why didn’t you come help us after you finished?”
Lu Yu took a sip of his cold drink. “That’s the music room over there. Me, a grown man, it’s not appropriate.”
Zhang Kexin grimaced. “Fine! You just wait, Lu. If you’ve got the guts, never set foot in there again—not even a step!”
Lu Yu hesitated, uncertain. “Wait, maybe I’m mistaken, but isn’t this my house? Did I walk through the wrong door?”
Zhang Kexin glared at Chen Xiaofei. “Chen Xiaofei, are you even a man? Look at Lu bullying me like this!”
Chen Xiaofei pretended to have just woken, yawned, and said, “Hmm? What did you just say? I’m so tired after today, Lu, I’m heading to my room to rest.”
Lu Yu chimed in, “Yeah, I’m a bit worn out too. I’ll go rest as well.”
With that, the two made a grand exit, leaving Zhang Kexin alone, buffeted by the chilly autumn wind.
After standing there for a while, Zhang Kexin ran back to complain to Qianqian.
Qianqian was still arranging the music room, curious about what had happened. Upon hearing the tale, she couldn’t help but laugh.
Zhang Kexin looked at her best friend, utterly disheartened.
Qianqian and Zhang Kexin continued working for a long time before finally stopping to rest. After a day’s labor, their fingers hardly wanted to move.

...
After seeing Chen Xiaofei off, Zhang Kexin and Qianqian left, and Lu Yu retired early.
He slept until he woke naturally, got up, washed, tidied himself, and went out.
After breakfast at a street stall, he took the subway to the library, continuing his research into biology and medicine.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to study other fields, nor that he lacked the ambition to pursue other technologies.
Rather, he simply didn’t have the extra funds to build his own laboratory and research center.
Advancing technology requires equipment, doesn’t it?
You can’t just talk about it, imagine it, and conjure advanced devices out of thin air.
That wouldn’t be technological progress; that would be some kind of system!
A cheat!
If it were possible, Lu Yu would love to have one. It’d make life so much easier!
Alas, he had none.
No system, no cheat codes.
All he had was a sea of dense, overwhelming information.
Lu Yu poured over books on biology and medicine, constantly expanding his knowledge in these areas, hoping to develop a formula to enhance physical fitness.
To spend the night with several women—who wouldn’t want that?
If anyone doesn’t, step forward and let everyone see!
Ha, men!
We all know each other, don’t we?
No matter your usual tastes, if everything’s laid before you, you’ll claim you’re up for it all!
Children make choices; adults want everything!
...
Besides wanting to enhance his physical fitness, Lu Yu was also searching for ways to extend human lifespan.
Currently, on Blue Star, research shows that embryonic cells have a limited number of divisions during growth, after which aging and death occur.
Thus, human lifespan is tied to the number and cycle of cell divisions; multiply the two, and you get the natural lifespan.
There was once an experiment where infant cells were placed in a culture medium, repeatedly dividing, generation after generation.
After fifty divisions, all the cells aged and died.
Further experiments established that the human cell division cycle is roughly 2.4 years.
Based on this, the theoretical natural human lifespan is 120 years.
This is the genetic limit, dictated by our DNA.
Breaking through this genetic barrier is extremely difficult.
But the theoretical limit doesn’t mean people actually live that long.
Accidents, viruses, nutrition, and countless other factors affect lifespan.
Since entering the modern era, advances in medical technology have greatly increased average human lifespans.
...
Right now, Lu Yu had no data that could break genetic constraints.
Even if he did, he lacked the necessary technology.
All he could do was stare at the information, powerless to realize it.

Among the basic data he’d unlocked, there were some techniques that could increase human lifespan.
But most of them were far beyond his current capabilities, technically impossible.
Only through medication could he hope to achieve the goal of prolonging life.
For example, drugs could enhance the body’s immunity to various viruses, boost cellular activity, delay cellular aging, improve nutrient absorption, and so forth.
As for slowing the cell division cycle, that was truly difficult.
Or perhaps medication could control the aging of the body, thereby extending the time before death.
These were the methods and directions Lu Yu could currently conceive—possible, perhaps achievable.
Beyond that, only the “black technologies” of future scientific data remained.
For now, Lu Yu was powerless and resigned.
Thinking about it, he sighed once more—life was just too tough.
He wanted so many things!
But what he had couldn’t even be realized!
...
Still, Lu Yu wasn’t discouraged. Look—he could already find ways to delay aging and death.
As his knowledge grew, and as he mastered more advanced technologies, he would eventually achieve his goals!
For now, the focus was on strengthening his physical constitution, enhancing his fitness, and improving his health!
Important matters bear repeating—three times!
Not just for cellular and chromosomal interactions.
Improving physical fitness also boosts immunity.
In a way, isn’t that also delaying death and thus lengthening life?
Hmm, thinking about it like this, it really does make sense!
...
Reading his books, a week passed in the blink of an eye.
As Lu Yu immersed himself in study, the Pink-White-Black Cosmetics Company sparked another buying frenzy.
Just as before, one million boxes each of Half Sky River Hydrating Mask and Jade Cream Whitening Mask were released.
The products sold out instantly, prompting even more complaints.
The reason was simple: more and more women were joining the rush, making both masks harder and harder to find.
No other reason—hydration and whitening effects were excellent, witnessed firsthand in daily life. Genuine whitening and hydration!
Watching friends become paler and more radiant day by day, seeming to reverse the aging process and grow ever younger—how could anyone suppress their restless hearts?
Naturally, joining the rush to buy was inevitable.
Notably, the rising star Su Yihan once again failed to secure a purchase.
When she posted a screenshot of her failed attempt on social media, countless netizens were delighted.
Her fans appreciated her authenticity, distinguishing her from other celebrities—she was relatable, even luckier than some fans.
Many fans managed to buy the products, yet she did not.
She also gained numerous new admirers, who found her utterly charming—and amusing, to be honest.
