Hearing the rumble from Miss Gu-style’s stomach, Lu Yu asked curiously,
“What time did you get up?”
Miss Gu-style looked a little embarrassed. “A bit after one.”
Lu Yu: “Didn’t you eat after getting up?”
Miss Gu-style replied, a touch annoyed, “You have the nerve to ask? With my clothes in that state after you messed with them, how was I supposed to go out?”
Lu Yu blinked. “Why not just have the restaurant deliver to the room?”
Miss Gu-style looked surprised. “They can do that?”
Lu Yu walked over to the dining table, picked up the tablet, and waved it at her. “A brain is a wonderful thing.”
She playfully punched him with her small fists, but he caught her and pulled her into his arms, searching for the ordering app on the tablet.
“Here, see what you want to eat.”
Girls are naturally indecisive creatures, easily falling into the trap of too many choices. Looking at the menu, she couldn’t decide what she wanted. Each dish she saw made her crave it, and her adorable, conflicted expression made Lu Yu’s heart itch.
She slapped Lu Yu’s hand in protest but didn’t stop him from teasing her, pouting,
“Fine, I want this, and this, and this one too.”
She was as cute as a little hamster, absolutely adorable.
Once Miss Gu-style finished ordering, Lu Yu turned to Pure Miss and asked, “What do you want to eat?”
Pure Miss was busy on her phone, not even glancing up. “You guys order. I can eat anything.”
Lu Yu couldn’t help teasing her. “Really? Anything?”
Pure Miss: “Mm-hmm.”
Lu Yu, with a mischievous glint: “Alright.”
Pure Miss finally turned her head, looking at him with disdain.

Lu Yu, chuckling, added a few more dishes, estimating what they’d need and sent the order for room delivery. The system immediately confirmed receipt and that the food was being prepared.
He set the tablet down. Miss Gu-style was sprawled in his arms, watching a drama. “Is it that good?”
She nodded enthusiastically. “Yeah! Look at him, isn’t he handsome?”
Lu Yu glanced at the screen. “Handsome, yes, but a bit effeminate.”
Miss Gu-style protested, “It’s called delicate! Try understanding the appeal of a ‘puppy boy’.”
Lu Yu was speechless. “So what does that make me? A grumpy old wolf?”
Lu Yu’s features were strong and masculine—a face that grew on you.
Miss Gu-style studied him seriously for a moment. “An old man!”
Lu Yu laughed. “At least I’m still human.”
As he spoke, he looked down at Miss Gu-style. The more he looked, the more beautiful she seemed, so he simply wrapped his arms around her and watched the show with her.
On the other side, Pure Miss wasn’t to be outdone, leaning against his shoulder as she played her game.
For a while, the only sound in the room was the dialogue from the TV drama—peaceful and warm.

Before they’d finished the episode, the doorbell rang.
Lu Yu gave Miss Gu-style a gentle squeeze to sit her up, then went to open the door. He returned, pushing a food cart.
As he set the dishes out on the table, he said, “Let’s eat first. Afterward, you can watch or play as much as you like.”

Perhaps hunger made the food smell even better. The two girls put down their phones and scurried over. Miss Gu-style leaned in, inhaling deeply.
“Wow, it smells amazing! Wait, don’t touch anything—I need to take a picture!”
Pure Miss chimed in, “Me too!”
Lu Yu set his chopsticks down and waited for them to finish their photos.
Only after the pictures were taken did the girls start eating in small bites.
Lu Yu ate slowly, not sure of their preferences, letting them pick what they liked before sweeping up what was left.
The two girls chatted about the drama as they ate, volleying back and forth. Lu Yu, unfamiliar with the plot, simply listened without interjecting.
A message notification popped up on his phone. It was from Chen Xiaofei: “Check this out, it’s hilarious!”
Lu Yu replied with a confused emoji.
Chen Xiaofei sent a photo—Lu Yu at the music bar the night before, gazing melancholically at the sky, captioned, “Humanity hasn’t colonized Mars yet, I don’t deserve a girlfriend.”
Lu Yu stared at the photo, speechless. Before he could reply, Chen Xiaofei sent a gif: Qianqian biting her lip shyly, then suddenly widening her eyes in shock.
Lu Yu replied with a string of ellipses.
Chen Xiaofei: “Haha, you have no idea—there’s even a short video. Want me to send it?”
Lu Yu: “Who’s bored enough to make this?”
Chen Xiaofei: “Who else but our Zhang Kexin?”
Lu Yu: “Don’t contact me for a while—I’m going into seclusion to cultivate.”
Chen Xiaofei: “Haha, I’m posting it to Weibo.”

Leaving the chat, Lu Yu saw a new friend request. The note said it was from Qianqian.
He hesitated, then accepted. Qianqian immediately sent a message: “Hmph!”
Lu Yu: “???”
Qianqian: “See for yourself.” She sent the gif of herself.
Lu Yu: “How is this my fault?”
Qianqian: “Of course it’s your fault! All because of you!”
Lu Yu: “I didn’t do it! Zhang Kexin took the picture!”
Qianqian: “Who told you to say such things?”
Lu Yu: “Those weren’t just words—that’s my dream!”
Qianqian: “I’ll chop you up.JPG”
Lu Yu exited the chat, and suddenly the food in front of him had lost its appeal.

Miss Gu-style and Pure Miss noticed his change in mood. “What’s wrong?”
Lu Yu glanced at them, sighed dejectedly, “I just want some peace and quiet.”
Pure Miss teased, “Who’s Peace and Quiet?”
Lu Yu ignored her and simply ate with newfound determination, wolfing down his food.
Seeing his enthusiasm, the girls joined in, and before they knew it, the three of them had finished everything.
They put the plates and bowls back on the food cart, wheeled it outside, and called the front desk to have it collected.
Returning to the living room, Lu Yu found the girls curled up on the sofa again—one watching dramas, the other gaming.
He shook his head, picked up his laptop bag, went to the desk, and logged onto a recruitment website. After registering the company’s details, he frowned, considering which positions to hire for.

Though he’d run a small business before, it had been far from formal and he’d never worked in a large company, so he was at a loss.
In the end, he decided to first hire a general manager with experience in a major corporation to help structure the company and offer advice.
The job requirements were simple: previous management experience in a large company, background in acquisitions and restructuring, based in Shu City, annual salary starting at 600,000 with additional bonuses.
After editing and checking the posting, he published it.
All he needed to do now was review the incoming résumés each day and arrange interviews for suitable candidates.
He suddenly remembered that the company’s registered address was still the old internet café—now renovated as a residence—which was no longer appropriate. He’d need to rent an office and update the company’s address.
He searched online for office buildings near Shu Yin University, shortlisted a few, and planned to visit them over the next couple of days to choose one to rent.

As for his earlier plan to enter the cosmetics market, Lu Yu looked into the necessary certifications.
He’d thought it would be straightforward, but discovered that, besides a business license, he’d also need a production permit and a hygiene certificate.
After the products went to market, a trademark registration, special cosmetics permit, quality inspection reports, and more would be required.
Setting up a completely new company from scratch seemed a hassle and the paperwork alone would take ages, so Lu Yu leaned toward acquiring an existing, fully licensed company with manufacturing facilities.
After some consideration, Lu Yu resolved to find a reliable consulting firm to quickly identify a suitable acquisition target, saving himself time and effort.
With his next steps clear, he closed his browser and laptop. Seeing it was still early—not yet six o’clock—he turned in his chair, glanced at the girls on the sofa, and a smile tugged at his lips.
He stood, walked over, and sat between them, his hand resting on their legs. “Are you really just going to watch shows and play games all day?”
Pure Miss: “What else did you have in mind?”
Lu Yu nodded seriously. “Plenty!”
Miss Gu-style burst into laughter at their banter.
Pure Miss: “Well, I don’t!”
Lu Yu sighed dramatically. “Ah, fine, if you’re not interested.”
Without another word, he scooped up Miss Gu-style and carried her toward the bedroom. “Get changed—we’re going to Tai Koo Li!”
Miss Gu-style exclaimed, “Why are we going to Tai Koo Li?”
Lu Yu grinned mischievously, “To shop, of course!”
The moment she heard “shopping,” her eyes sparkled and she kicked her legs excitedly in his arms. “Let’s go, let’s go!”
Pure Miss tossed her phone aside and hurried to catch up, clinging to Lu Yu’s arm. “Me too! I want to go too!”
Lu Yu looked at her in mock surprise. “Didn’t you just say you didn’t want to?”
Pure Miss nodded fervently. “I do! I do!”
Lu Yu put Miss Gu-style down to let her change. When Pure Miss tried to leave, he grabbed her back for a round of playful roughhousing before letting her go.
Just as Miss Gu-style finished getting ready—her makeup subtle and elegant—Lu Yu was thoroughly satisfied.
When Pure Miss was ready, the three of them finally left the room.
After taking the hotel car to Tai Koo Li, it was nearly seven.
Lu Yu glanced at the two girls, their steps light and lively, and a silent smile spread across his face.
Indeed, shopping is a magic elixir for girls. No matter their mood or state, a shopping spree always brings them back to life.
