Chapter 130: The Breakthrough Part 3
Lin Yang was unaware of the situation outside; he was currently focused on absorbing the vast spiritual energy from his surroundings. He had been using this energy to continuously temper his divine sense, but because the secret chamber obstructed the flow, his absorption was relatively slow. He surged out of the chamber and flew to the mountain peak, where he hovered in the air. Gradually, the phantom of an infant began to take shape.
Upon closer inspection, this infant bore a striking resemblance to Lin Yang. It was highly translucent, possessing a texture reminiscent of fine jade. At that moment, a streak of golden light appeared in Lin Yang's mind, constantly dividing his primordial spirit within his meridians. Finally, the entire primordial spirit detached from his physical body, becoming a distinct, independent entity.
This is why, once a cultivator reaches the Nascent Soul stage and beyond, they can survive for a long time even if their physical body is destroyed, and they can even unleash spells to attack others. After forming a Nascent Soul, the entity can drift in the outside world for a long time without dissipating. Below the Nascent Soul stage, this is impossible; such cultivators would need to reside within someone else’s divine sense or other objects capable of nourishing the soul. Ultimately, it comes down to the primordial spirit and the physical body becoming two separate, individual existences.
Once the primordial spirit was fully separated, it gradually descended into his dantian, forming an infant that looked like white jade. The Nascent Soul reached the center of the dantian, where his Golden Core resided. The infant opened its small mouth, seemingly intent on swallowing the fist-sized core. The core, radiating five-colored light, began to shrink until it became a small bead that flew into the Nascent Soul’s belly. Once the core was swallowed, the entire Nascent Soul began to emit a five-colored radiance.
After a moment, the Golden Core and the infant merged completely. Lin Yang’s entire body shuddered, and the extreme pleasure forced an involuntary moan from his lips. Even as his primordial spirit returned to its place and he successfully advanced to the Nascent Soul stage, the enhancement of his strength was not yet over.
His Nascent Soul exhaled wisps of golden gas, which continuously permeated every meridian and cell in Lin Yang’s body. As this golden energy entered his cells, Lin Yang felt an overwhelming sense of jubilation. His physique was being constantly reinforced and elevated. Even though he had neglected his body-refining cultivation for some time, it had now reached the peak of the Golden Core stage. He only needed to practice a little more to break through the final bottleneck, becoming a dual cultivator whose physical prowess matched his Nascent Soul cultivation.
The reason he could keep his physique on par with his cultivation was entirely due to the various rare treasures he had consumed. While these treasures were primarily meant to boost his cultivation, their medicinal power had continuously permeated his meridians and cells. Furthermore, over the past few years, he had been using the spiritual energy of the Red Lotus to forge his body. Reaching this final bottleneck was, therefore, quite natural.
After a while, the upgrading of his physique ceased, and Lin Yang had fully accepted the feedback from his advancement to the Nascent Soul stage. Floating in the air, he sensed his internal organs, bones, and flesh. He directed his divine sense inward to inspect his body; his cells and meridians were now stained with a brilliant luster, appearing incredibly refined. His bones and cells looked as if they had been reborn—delicate, yet radiating a jade-like glow.
Just then, his body emitted a multi-colored brilliance—the ultimate manifestation of the five elemental spiritual energies combined. Wherever this radiance touched, it transformed all non-elemental spiritual energy into various elemental forms. This light alone was enough to interfere with reality; his current spiritual energy could likely bring a dying mortal back from the brink of death. Perhaps "resurrection" was an exaggeration, but for someone with a final breath, receiving a baptism of this wood-attribute spiritual energy would certainly offer a chance at survival.
Lin Yang continued to sense his strengthened body in the sky, attempting to circulate his internal spiritual energy, only to find that the speed of the energy flow was somewhat sluggish.
"What is going on?"
Lin Yang sensed the vast, ocean-like reserves of spiritual energy within him and tried to operate his technique again. However, the amount of energy he could mobilize was limited. Although it was still far greater than what he could command during the Golden Core stage, it felt somewhat sparse compared to the standards of a Nascent Soul cultivator.
"It seems my technique cannot keep up."
After observing for a while, Lin Yang realized the limitation of his cultivation method. Although it had served him well for two stages, it now appeared somewhat lackluster. While his strength remained formidable, he could not mobilize it all at once; he was like a faucet in a water tank, letting the energy flow out slowly. What he needed next was to upgrade his technique to achieve the "flow rate" required to unleash all his spiritual energy in an instant.
"Open panel."

Looking at the plus sign next to his technique, Lin Yang knew it could be upgraded again. He tapped the plus sign, and his attribute points instantly decreased by 500,000.
In his vision, a massive, peculiar cauldron appeared, carved with dragons and phoenixes. The creatures seemed alive, constantly slithering across the surface, and the entire vessel emanated an ancient, primordial aura. The intricate patterns drew Lin Yang in, and he found himself transported into a vast world.
He saw prehistoric beasts ranging from 100,000 to several hundred thousand feet tall, slaughtering each other across oceans and continents. These gargantuan creatures were merely "shrimp soldiers and crab generals" in the grand scheme of things, and the creatures flying in the sky were nothing more than common birds.
Just as the two sides were locked in a fierce battle, a black dragon appeared, spiraling through the sea, its body occupying half the sky. Lin Yang stood on the ground, counting the dragon’s claws; such a powerful beast possessed only four. Across the sky streaked a four-colored phantom, moving with such extreme speed that Lin Yang could only catch a glimpse. After a while, the phoenix slowed down, revealing itself to be a four-colored creature with four flowing lights emanating from its tail.
When the soldiers below were mostly dead, the dragon and the phoenix began a bloody struggle. Their movements caused the heavens to crack and space to shatter. Eventually, as if the river of time had flowed to its end, they fell to the earth, their blood and true spirits drawn toward a strange black cauldron. This cauldron had been locked beneath the earth by a peculiar primordial array, absorbing the blood and spirits of the dragon and phoenix. Once the cauldron was fully formed, it was snatched away by a streak of light—the very light Lin Yang was witnessing now.
This radiance was created by the system's upgrade function, which had reached back into the primordial world to claim this relatively low-level innate spiritual treasure for Lin Yang.
