The Li sisters bore remarkable resemblance in appearance, yet their personalities could not have been more different. One was lively and cheerful, while the other possessed the aloof beauty of an ice queen. As they lay side by side on the bed, an indescribable sense of allure filled the air. Their curves, fair skin, and sparkling blue eyes created a captivating tableau. Even though Gu Lang already had Yu Qiuchi, he found himself astonished by their beauty.

Without another word, Gu Lang joined the two women on the bed, turned off the lights, and prepared to rest. As he listened to the soft breathing beside him and inhaled the delicate fragrance lingering in the air, his expression grew solemn.

Why hasn’t the system reward arrived yet? Don’t tell me it actually wants me to do that with a zombie! Damn! Why am I feeling a bit excited—that’s absurd!

Gu Lang forced himself to remain calm; his concern was not disgust, but wariness of the treacherous system. Yu Qiuchi had already proven how misleading its instructions could be—“sleeping together,” it said, and Gu Lang had almost believed it. If he hadn’t kept his composure, the task would have failed long ago. This time, too, the instructions were vague. “Get down to business”—but what business exactly? What if it simply meant lying down?

Gu Lang pondered swiftly.

“Brother Gu Lang! You truly are a good man!” Suddenly, Li Muwan handed him a “good guy card,” catching him off guard.

“What!” Gu Lang was about to speak when the system prompt flashed before his eyes.

[Ding! Congratulations, host! Task completed: You have shared a bed with two girlfriends and enjoyed a candlelit conversation, fulfilling the system’s hidden mission! Well done, host, you even managed to keep your gun holstered!]
[Task reward: 10 free attribute points! Affection upgraded to spouse level!]
[Detected: Your affection with Li Xiaoxiao has reached the level of husband and wife. Skill shared: Blade and Shadow!]
[Blade and Shadow: For ten seconds, your speed increases to 100%, and you may perform a forward dash along a straight path. This dash can be used repeatedly within the ten seconds, after which it disappears. Cooldown: fifty seconds.]

Damn it! This dog system is really playing games with me. So “getting down to business” just meant talking? And I had to keep my gun holstered? Gu Lang was speechless—this truly matched the system’s twisted nature. Still, the rewards were substantial—a new skill.

A hundred percent speed increase meant double his usual speed. With eighty speed points, Gu Lang would be nearly invincible. Li Xiaoxiao’s fifty points were already bullet-fast; eighty points would be extraordinary. Though there was a cooldown, ten seconds was more than enough for Gu Lang to act.

“Brother Gu Lang… sob… If not for you, we sisters would have been…” Li Xiaoxiao, her intellect restored, flung herself into Gu Lang’s arms, weeping softly. Clearly, her memory was that Gu Lang had saved them both.

Gu Lang patted her shoulder, feeling the weight pressing against his chest.

“It’s all right. We’re spouses now—no need for formalities,” he said.

The sisters’ faces flushed, but neither objected.

This was the benefit of maxed-out affection; they had already accepted Gu Lang. Aside from the fact that one was human and the other a zombie, they would have been considered husband and wife before the apocalypse.

Dawn soon arrived, and the group set out once more. Their destination this time was the SPC factory.

Now, Gu Lang had four wives, two of whom possessed silver-tier combat strength. Along the way, there was no need to hide—they simply slaughtered their enemies with abandon. It was still early days in the apocalypse; most zombies were bronze-tier. With at least three silver-tier warriors among them, Gu Lang’s group crushed all opposition.

With a crunch, Gu Lang’s steel blade severed the heads of three zombies. At last, the factory gates appeared before them—this was the SPC factory, on the outskirts of the city. Beyond lay the suburbs, and this was where Gu Lang planned to settle down.

The factory was immense—at a glance, it resembled a small town. The gates were tightly shut, and inside, a horde of zombies wandered back and forth. Gu Lang’s expression darkened; it didn’t look like anyone lived here.

The group slipped in through a side door. Although there were many zombies, the factory was filled with equipment and workshops. In the confined space, they could fight the zombies more effectively.

As they moved forward, a discovery was quickly made.

“Brother Gu Lang, is this the factory warehouse? There’s actually food!” The little girl’s eyes sparkled as she pointed toward a door.

Li Muwan raised her hand, unleashed an ice spike, and shattered the lock. The contents were revealed: boxes of every shape and size, all sorts of goods. There was food and drink—even canned goods, flour, and cooking oil. This was clearly the factory cafeteria’s storeroom.

Given the factory’s size, a large warehouse was only natural. Gu Lang scoured the place, discarding anything expired, and collected a good amount of rice, flour, and oil. He stuffed these into his storage pouch, which weighed nothing when worn.

Just then, Li Muwan frowned and spoke.

“Gu Lang, there are signs of human activity here. There must be survivors nearby.”

As a lady of distinguished birth, Li Muwan was not only beautiful but also highly intelligent. Gu Lang was startled and immediately became alert.

“Indeed. Looks like we’re close to our target.”

At that moment, Gu Lang felt a sudden prickling on his scalp and instinctively stepped back half a pace.

A sharp “bang” rang out!

A bullet whizzed past the spot Gu Lang had just vacated, striking the iron door behind him and puncturing it cleanly.

“Not good! Protect Gu Lang!” Yu Qiuchi reacted swiftly, spreading her arms to shield Gu Lang.

The little girl immediately commanded five zombies to scatter, forming a wall of undead.

The Li sisters readied themselves for battle.

“Bang!” The gunfire sounded again.

This time, a manipulated zombie was shot through the head on the spot. Blood and flesh flew past Gu Lang’s cheek. The force was clearly that of a sniper rifle.

“Hurry! Keep replenishing the zombies, fall back and take cover!” Gu Lang ordered calmly, searching for the source of the shots.

They were in the factory warehouse, outside was a patch of abandoned woods. The shots were coming from that direction. The two earlier shots had been too fast for Gu Lang to pinpoint the location. The woods were dense—whoever was hiding was impossible to spot.

Luckily, they crouched behind the shelves, shielded by several sacks of expired flour. For now, they were safe, but unable to move.

Not far away, atop a tree canopy, a young man let out a cold laugh.

“So many girls? And zombies too… Looks like another chosen one!”

“Boss was right, they’d come looking, but they’re doomed!”

The young man’s name was Zhang Hu, one of the factory’s top fighters. His skill was marksmanship—he could conjure a sniper rifle out of thin air, with infinite bullets. Combined with his advantageous position, he was confident he could take Gu Lang down.

He raised his rifle, smirking as he aimed. He seemed certain of victory.

Zhang Hu loaded another round and prepared to fire on reinforcements, but suddenly froze.

A shadow burst from the warehouse.

It looked like a person!

“Courting death! Running with a sniper trained on you?”

Zhang Hu tried to aim, but the shadow had already slipped out of his scope. The speed was astonishing!

He couldn’t aim at all.

The shadow was already sprinting toward him.

“What the—what kind of speed is that?”

Zhang Hu was shocked, unable to even open the scope. He fired several shots blindly, relying on instinct.

Bang, bang, bang!

The sniper rifle roared, but every bullet missed.

“Damn! Dodging bullets with those moves—are you cheating?”
