Su Lan had originally thought that under these circumstances, Lin Li would be extremely nervous. Unexpectedly, Lin Li was even calmer than she had imagined.

“It seems you must already have a way to deal with them; that’s why you can be so composed.”

Su Lan knew Lin Li’s character well enough to understand that his calm demeanor meant he certainly had a plan for how to handle these people.

In the end, Zhou Huaji and Qiu Bisheng had never truly managed to control the Qin family. Their vision was narrow, and they had no idea how to maximize the family's interests going forward.

Lin Li walked over to Su Lan and said, “Don’t worry, Sister Lan. Aren’t you still the one at the helm right now?”

“But I must say, I find myself even more interested in you at the moment…”

After a night of passion, Su Lan lay in Lin Li’s arms.

With Qin Guosheng dead, the two of them felt much more at ease; there was no need to hide or keep secrets anymore.

“You wicked little devil, why were you so energetic today?”

“I almost fell apart because of you.”

Lin Li grinned with satisfaction. Clearly, the boost in his strength and attributes had given him a complete transformation. Even in this regard, the experience was worlds apart from before.

Qin Guosheng, oh, Qin Guosheng.

The things you failed to accomplish over the years—let me take care of them for you.

The two spent a tender night together.

Early the next morning, Lin Li and Su Lan headed straight to the Qin family’s company.

Recently, whenever she had time, Su Lan would personally visit the company. Partly to audit the accounts, and also to plant some of her own people there.

After all, this was Qin Guosheng’s company, so there were many within who doubted her abilities. Yet over the past few days, Su Lan had worked hard to change their minds. Whatever their previous opinions, Su Lan had already turned things around.

But this morning, as the two arrived, they were surprised to find the company in chaos.

Many employees had been replaced by unfamiliar faces.

Just from the atmosphere, it was clear that these new staff members were disrupting the company's normal operations—they couldn’t even handle the most basic tasks. Keeping such employees around was nothing but a waste of space.

It didn’t take Su Lan long to realize this must be Qin Lang’s doing.

She headed straight to Qin Lang’s office.

“What’s going on out there?” Su Lan narrowed her eyes at Qin Lang.

After just a few days of rest, Qin Lang had recovered far faster than anyone expected. At first, he looked a little apprehensive in the face of Su Lan’s questioning, but Zhou Huaji, standing behind him, gently patted his shoulder.

“Sister-in-law,” Zhou Huaji said with a beaming smile, “since Qin Lang is the eldest brother’s son, he is bound to take over the company one day. So we thought we’d start training him now, helping him get to know the business. Naturally, the first step is to bring in his own people.”

Anyone unaware might have believed Zhou Huaji was acting in Qin Lang’s best interest. But Su Lan could see through it: those burly newcomers were clearly Zhou Huaji’s own men, not legitimate employees.

Truth be told, Zhou Huaji’s real aim was to seize control of the Qin family for himself.

Su Lan was, of course, thoroughly disgusted by such shameless behavior.

“Zhou Huaji, I don’t know what you’re plotting, but one thing is clear: you have no right to meddle in how things are run here.”

If she didn’t give these people a lesson, they’d only become even more outrageous.

She had just finished selecting a number of promising young talents to train—new blood she’d worked hard to recruit. If placed properly, they could bring about great change for the Qin family’s future.

But to her dismay, the very people she’d just brought in had been driven out in no time.

This matter concerned the future of the Qin family—and was the best way for Su Lan to prove her worth.

Seeing Su Lan’s anger, Zhou Huaji simply smiled dismissively.

“Why is Sister-in-law so upset?”

Su Lan pressed him: “You want Qin Lang to gradually take control of the Qin family’s businesses? I have no objections—as long as he’s up to the task. But is he really capable of handling all this? And are your intentions truly just to help him ascend?”

She turned to Qin Lang. “Your usual antics are one thing, but this concerns the company. Do you really think it’s that simple? You fired all the people I worked so hard to bring in—do you realize many of them held key positions within the Qin family?”

Hearing this, Qin Lang’s earlier sense of pride quickly faded into silence. It was the first time he had seen Su Lan this furious; perhaps things really had gone too far.

Previously, with Qin Guosheng around, Su Lan could not show her discontent. But now, without his restraint, her perspective on everything had shifted.

“Mom, please don’t be angry. I didn’t think things through.” He hesitated, “But Uncle Zhou said that if I wanted to establish myself in the company, I needed to set an example and fire those who wouldn’t cooperate.”

As soon as he finished, Su Lan shot Zhou Huaji a venomous glare.

For all his arrogance before, Zhou Huaji now felt a chill down his spine at the sight of her. He couldn’t understand why this woman frightened him so much—as if she could erase him from existence with a single thought.

He could only force a couple of awkward laughs.

“Sister-in-law, everything I’ve done is for the boy’s future growth. You know how dangerous our current situation is.”

Zhou Huaji forced a smile, but when his eyes fell on Lin Li, his expression changed subtly.

Clearly, anything concerning Lin Li was not to be taken lightly.

“Old Zhou,” Lin Li said coldly, “I don’t care what you’re up to, but you need to understand one thing: This is the Qin family. No matter how close you were to Elder Qin, it’s not your place to call the shots here.”
