Chapter 57: The Drunk and the Sober (Extra Chapter for Xu Xian’s Birthday)
Watching Chen Zhe, who was now completely unresponsive, Jung Soo-jung knew it would be nearly impossible to wake him. Feeling a bit helpless, she glanced at her own unni still slumped over the table, and at Taeyeon who was leaning against her, unsure what to do next. Her brows furrowed into the shape of the character for “eight,” displaying a comically troubled expression.
“Soojung, you take care of Ah Zhe. I'll look after Sica unni and Taeyeon unni,” came Seohyun’s voice from beside her. Jung Soo-jung was still contemplating how she could manage to care for her two unnies with Chen Zhe resting on her lap, making her unable to move.
“Yes, thank you, Seohyun unni,” she replied, turning toward the voice. Jung Soo-jung’s eyes brightened as she saw Seohyun already standing behind Jung So-yeon and Kim Taeyeon. With Seohyun’s help, everything would be much easier, and her tone carried a hint of joy.
“It’s nothing. They’re my unnies too. I’m used to taking care of them,” Seohyun said in her usual calm voice, but for some reason, Jung Soo-jung sensed a trace of bitterness behind the words, causing her brows to knit once more.
“Really, Ah Zhe insisted on following Chinese customs, and Yuqi, you actually agreed. Now look, Ah Zhe’s gotten himself this drunk!” Seohyun adjusted Taeyeon, helping her lean against the table, then looked at Chen Yuqi, who hadn’t drunk much and was still sober. Her tone carried a hint of dissatisfaction and complaint.
“Oh, well, there are some benefits to him being drunk, aren’t there?” Chen Yuqi, who knew that Seohyun treated her younger brother as her own, simply waved her hand dismissively and glanced at Jung Soo-jung, her tone teasing.
“Yuqi unni, what are you saying? Ah Zhe is your brother, so he’s my brother too. What’s wrong with me taking care of my brother?” Noticing Chen Yuqi’s gestures and Seohyun’s gaze, Jung Soo-jung’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she hurriedly tried to explain, waving her hands.
But as she withdrew the hand supporting Chen Zhe’s head, his head started to slip toward the floor again, startling her into quickly steadying him once more.
“I didn’t mean anything! I just meant that Ah Zhe is enjoying the care of his other unnies, not just his own sister,” Chen Yuqi said, feigning ignorance as if she had no idea what Jung Soo-jung was trying to explain.
Seeing Chen Yuqi’s deliberately mischievous expression, Jung Soo-jung, realizing she was being teased again, could only grit her teeth in frustration. Unable to get up and confront Chen Yuqi, she resorted to poking Chen Zhe’s cheek lightly, muttering that it was all his fault. Finding the sensation pleasant, she poked a few more times.
“Stop poking, little bean. If you keep at it, Ah Zhe’s face will be covered in poke marks,” Chen Yuqi said with a laugh, still using that playful tone.
“Hmph!” Annoyed by Chen Yuqi’s teasing, the “Little Ice Queen” returned to her cold demeanor, deliberately turning her head aside and letting out a chilly snort.
“Oh, right, little bean, this is for you. The password is xxxxxxx.” Seeing Jung Soo-jung’s frosty attitude, Chen Yuqi’s eyes glinted with a new plan. She took out the latest model of Apple phone from her bag and handed it to Jung Soo-jung.
“What’s this?” Jung Soo-jung tilted her head in confusion, unsure why Chen Yuqi was handing her a phone, but still reached out to take it.
“This is Ah Zhe’s phone. That’s his lock screen password. Your unnies have already exchanged contact info with him!” Chen Yuqi raised an eyebrow at Jung Soo-jung’s puzzled face and gave her a thumbs up, kindly explaining.
“Ah! Yuqi unni, why are you giving me this?” Whether pretending not to understand or genuinely confused, Jung Soo-jung’s brows furrowed again as she questioned Chen Yuqi.
“It’s nothing. I’m just giving you the password. After all, some unnies don’t even have their own brother’s contact info, and since Ah Zhe is completely passed out, he can’t exchange numbers himself!” Sensing that Jung Soo-jung was nearing the limits of her patience, Chen Yuqi decided to stop teasing and offered her a graceful way out.
“You’re right, Yuqi unni. It really is neglectful for an unni not to have her brother’s contact info,” Jung Soo-jung replied softly, as if convincing herself or simply responding to Chen Yuqi’s words.
Having apparently convinced herself, Jung Soo-jung picked up Chen Zhe’s phone, entered the password provided by Chen Yuqi, and immediately saw a background featuring the nine members of Girls’ Generation in their MR. TAXI uniforms. She muttered inwardly, “Hmph, men really do like unnies like them.”
Because Jung Soo-jung also used an Apple phone, she manipulated the interface with ease. Opening Chen Zhe’s contacts, she saw Yuqi unni, Heechul oppa, the three of them, and the seven members of Girls’ Generation.
After saving her own number and adding a note, Jung Soo-jung noticed a name that seemed somewhat familiar: Oh Ha-young, as well as another name she didn’t recognize at all. This made her frown slightly.
Trying to recall where she had seen the name Oh Ha-young, Jung Soo-jung’s brows once again formed the shape of “eight,” her comical worried expression returning.
“Oh Ha-young—I remember that the maknae of a new girl group called Apink has that name, but I’m not sure if it’s the same person,” Seohyun, having settled the two unnies, walked over to Jung Soo-jung, noticed the name she’d tapped, and after a moment of thought, offered her best guess.
“That Oh Ha-young, I’ve heard Ah Zhe mention her. She really is a girl group member, and I believe the group is called Apink,” said Chen Yuqi, who had been watching the exchange.
