Chapter Seven: My Husband Is a Fanboy?!
A sudden jolt ran through her. How terrifying! Heavens above! Why hadn’t her other husbands returned to this body yet…? For the first time, Fang Zhiyin silently begged in her heart for the other personalities to hurry over and help her kick the thirty-five-year-old Ouyang Junyan away!
…
At long last, the hour-long morning run was over. Ouyang Junyan had originally demanded a two-hour session, but since Fang Zhiyin took too long making breakfast, well…
For her, even saying that every second of that hour felt like a year would not be an exaggeration.
Fang Zhiyin’s mind went completely blank. She collapsed on the ground, making no move to get up.
“Fang Zhiyin, as my wife, your athletic ability is truly lacking! You’re this exhausted after barely an hour? Don’t you know that only with a strong body can you accomplish countless possibilities?” Ouyang Junyan’s voice was stern.
Fang Zhiyin shook her head, thinking, I don’t care to know!
Ouyang Junyan didn’t seem inclined to help her up either; he simply remarked in a leisurely tone, “Go back and make another breakfast. Don’t forget your own portion this time. I’ll eat with you before heading to the office.” His voice faded as he walked away.
Fang Zhiyin silently raised a finger in his direction…
Yet after ten seconds or so, Ouyang Junyan returned.
Fang Zhiyin took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and shouted, “Damn it! What more do you want from me?!”
Her sudden outburst startled him so much that he stumbled back repeatedly.
When Fang Zhiyin opened her eyes again, she saw Ouyang Junyan sprawled dramatically on the ground, one hand clutching his chest, his face flushed crimson.
Slowly, Fang Zhiyin sat up, studying the man before her. After a moment’s hesitation, she ventured, “Ouyang?”
She couldn’t be sure which Ouyang this was, but she was certain it wasn’t the thirty-five-year-old one!
“Wife, why are you lying on the ground so early in the morning?” It was the twenty-five-year-old puppy-like Ouyang Junyan! He hurried over and, without hesitation, scooped Fang Zhiyin into a princess carry.
So this was the line between heaven and hell—only a thought apart.
Just a moment ago she was in hell, and now she’d been delivered to heaven?
“Husband, I’m exhausted,” Fang Zhiyin found herself cooing at Ouyang Junyan—something she’d never imagined she’d do. Though this wasn’t his original self, she was far too tired to care. If she wanted to act spoiled, she would!
“You still haven’t told me why you’re up so early…”
“I was woken at five, had to make breakfast, and then go running.”
“Who made you get up at five?!” Ouyang Junyan was utterly shocked.
You did… Fang Zhiyin drew a long, suppressed breath and forced out the words through clenched teeth, “It was… fate!”
“Hm?” Ouyang Junyan didn’t understand.
“Never mind, could you make me something to eat?” Fang Zhiyin acted spoiled again.
“No problem!!”
In less than twenty minutes, the twenty-five-year-old Ouyang Junyan produced a hearty sandwich. Before Fang Zhiyin could even reach for it, her puppy-husband brought it right to her lips.
In that moment, being in heaven felt pretty good.
After finishing breakfast with her puppy-husband, Ouyang Junyan should have been heading to the office. Instead, he gazed at her with wide, hopeful eyes, his fingers nervously poking each other—looking both pitiful and a little silly.
“Wife, later can we…” Ouyang Junyan trailed off, hesitant.
“This early in the morning?” Fang Zhiyin misunderstood, her cheeks flushing red.
“Now that we’re full, why don’t you come with me somewhere?” His eyes sparkled with excitement.
Huh? Where?
Fang Zhiyin had no idea where Ouyang Junyan wanted to take her. But wherever it was, it surely couldn’t be worse than being chased by the thirty-five-year-old Ouyang Junyan during a run, right?
Or so she thought…
When they arrived at their destination, Fang Zhiyin could scarcely believe her eyes.
“Ouyang…” she exclaimed in astonishment. “Why have you brought me here?”
“Today is UI’s fan meeting! I wanted you to experience it with me!” The twenty-five-year-old Ouyang Junyan was practically bouncing with excitement.
UI? What was that?
This guy… was a fanboy?!
Fang Zhiyin quickly searched UI on her phone and discovered that she was an eighteen-year-old star who had just debuted this year.
So her puppy-like, affectionate husband was secretly a fangirl for a young starlet? Fang Zhiyin felt she had every right to be upset.
“Wife, are you jealous?” Ouyang Junyan noticed her expression darken and asked cautiously.
“You knew I might not be happy, might get mad, and still brought me here?”
“Because I really like this idol, but you’re the woman I love most! Bringing you along is the right thing to do. If I came by myself and you found out, wouldn’t you be even angrier?”
…He did have a point.
But Fang Zhiyin was still fuming, a lump of frustration stuck in her chest, neither rising nor falling—just unbearable!
She thought about leaving Ouyang Junyan there and going home, but the venue was so packed with people that by the time she tried to leave, there was no way out.
“Wife, just stay and watch with me!” Ouyang Junyan pleaded in her ear, “Tonight I’ll make it up to you!”
Tonight…
Fang Zhiyin’s cheeks burned red again.
The fan meeting was scheduled for ten o’clock, but UI arrived fashionably late, not appearing until nearly eleven. She didn’t apologize to her fans, just smiled, said a few words, and brushed it off.
Then she began to sing.
She wasn’t much of a singer…
And her dancing… left much to be desired.
Yet, Fang Zhiyin looked around and saw that the crowd—especially the many nerdy young men—were screaming their lungs out. She was baffled: Was there something wrong with them?
She glanced at Ouyang Junyan beside her—though he held her hand tightly, his eyes never left the young idol on stage.
Fang Zhiyin truly didn’t know how to react.
After two songs, the event shifted to a fan interaction segment. Of all people, Ouyang Junyan was chosen to go on stage!
“Wife! I heard my name! It’s really me!!” Ouyang Junyan exclaimed, instantly releasing Fang Zhiyin’s hand and darting up to the stage like a startled cat.
Fang Zhiyin: ???
Was this really her husband?
Ouyang Junyan was already on stage, gazing adoringly at UI as the host droned on with pointless chatter.
Fang Zhiyin clenched her fists in fury, tempted to rush up and drag him down herself.
Wait!
Suddenly, a critical thought struck her… The Ouyang Junyan before her was the twenty-five-year-old one. If one of the other personalities returned to this body and discovered he’d done something as shameless as chasing an idol, they’d be furious!
Especially the thirty-five-year-old Ouyang Junyan!
