The group soon arrived at a rather upscale KTV in the city, where Qin’s father had reserved a large private room.

Yang Xiaofan did not step forward to pay. Since they were in a public place, it would have been inappropriate for him to draw attention to himself, so he wore a mask and a baseball cap the entire time.

However, just as the family entered the room, a man in a suit came in carrying several platters of fruit.

“We didn’t order any fruit platters.”

The man smiled.

“Don’t worry. These are gifts from me. They’re free of charge.”

Qin’s father was completely bewildered. He had no idea what the man was up to.

Seeing the confusion and shock on his face, the man turned toward Yang Xiaofan with a smile.

“I’m your brother-in-law’s fan, and I also happen to own this place. It’s truly an honor to see him come to my KTV to sing tonight. So I took the liberty of coming in to bring you all some fruit.”

Yang Xiaofan and the others were somewhat astonished.

“How did you recognize him?”

Qin Nuanxin was the first to speak, voicing the question on everyone’s mind.

The owner smiled again.

“To be honest, I didn’t recognize your brother-in-law directly. But I know you and your sister. I’ve watched your livestreams, and I also know that your brother-in-law proposed to your sister a couple of days ago. I saw her on Douyin. So I figured that the man wearing a mask and baseball cap had to be him.”

“All right.”

Everyone was stunned. They had never expected the man to identify Yang Xiaofan from such tiny details. He really was remarkably observant.

The owner set down the fruit platters and walked over to Yang Xiaofan with a smile.

“Brother-in-law, I’m a huge fan of yours. Could I take a photo with you?”

Since the man had come all the way over and put it so directly, Yang Xiaofan could hardly refuse.

He removed his mask and baseball cap, then cleared his throat.

“Well, taking a photo is no problem. But please don’t share the news that I’m here. I just want to enjoy some peace and quiet with my family.”

The owner made an okay sign with his fingers.

“Don’t worry, Brother-in-law. I understand. Celebrities need their privacy.”

Being called “brother-in-law” by a man in his forties or fifties gave Yang Xiaofan a strange and awkward feeling.

He spoke again.

“Perhaps you could call me Mr. Yang instead of brother-in-law.”

“Of course, Mr. Yang.”

The two of them took a photo together, and the owner looked thoroughly pleased.

“Mr. Yang, thank you for taking a photo with me. I hope you have a wonderful time. If you need anything, just call for me. Everything you spend tonight is on the house.”

With that, the owner left the private room in high spirits.

The entire family watched the scene with immense pride.

“Xiaofan is becoming more and more impressive. Now even when he comes to a KTV, he doesn’t have to spend a penny.”

Yang Xiaofan could only shake his head helplessly and let out a sigh.

“Not having to pay is actually worse than paying. You have no idea how uncomfortable it is to be followed and recognized everywhere you go.”

Qin’s father sighed.

“There’s nothing you can do about it. Whoever wears the crown must bear its weight. Without all those fans, you wouldn’t have made it this far.”

Yang Xiaofan nodded and sat down beside Qin Nuanyu. Everyone began singing.

Yang’s mother did not know how to sing, while Qin’s parents performed a duet.

To Yang Xiaofan’s surprise, his own father had a surprisingly good voice. He sang a song called Green Leaves in the Military, and he sang it especially well.

After that, it was Qin Nuanxin’s turn to perform.

With Yang Xiaoqing beside her, the two little troublemakers seemed to bring out the worst in each other. They sang with tremendous enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, although one was a beauty and the other a beautiful young girl, their singing left much to be desired.

Their voices were as shrill as though they had been clawed by chicken feet.

Qin’s father nearly lost consciousness after hearing them sing a single note.

Covering his ears, he waved his hands repeatedly.

“All right, all right! The two of you stop singing! It sounds awful!”

The two girls looked at each other and reluctantly stopped.

Seeing that the room had fallen silent, Qin Nuanyu gave Yang Xiaofan a meaningful glance.

“Xiaofan, you sing so beautifully. Go sing a couple of songs and liven things up for everyone.”

Yang Xiaofan frowned slightly.

“Maybe I shouldn’t. You know how I sing. I’m too good, and it could easily cause trouble.”

“That shouldn’t happen. It’s already nighttime, and we’re in a KTV. Everyone else will just assume someone is playing the original recording. No one will think you’re the one singing.”

Qin Nuanxin immediately joined in.

“Exactly! Brother-in-law, you sing so well. Sing a couple of songs for us.”

Yang’s father and Qin’s father also urged Yang Xiaofan to sing.

“All right, then.”

Unable to put it off any longer, Yang Xiaofan had no choice but to agree.

Yang Xiaoqing could not help asking in confusion, “Is my brother really that good at singing? That can’t be right, can it? I remember his singing being terrible.”

“Terrible? You must never have heard your brother sing properly. His singing is frighteningly good. He could even rival the most popular male and female stars.”

“Really?”

Yang Xiaoqing tilted her head skeptically.

Qin Nuanxin nodded emphatically.

“Really. More genuine than pure gold.”

By then, Yang Xiaofan had already taken the microphone. After clearing his throat, he selected a song and began singing toward the screen.

“When the moonlight falls upon my face…”

It was an old internet song called Seeking Buddha. Though the song itself was dated, Yang Xiaofan’s extraordinary skill transformed it into something breathtaking.

His voice was perfectly suited to the song—pleasant, moving, and incredibly beautiful. Combined with his phenomenal vocal ability, his performance surpassed every voice anyone in the room had ever heard.

“It’s beautiful! Absolutely beautiful! My God, how can a song sound this good?”

“Xiaofan sings unbelievably well!”

It was not only Qin’s parents who were stunned. Yang’s parents, Yang Xiaoqing, and even Yang Xiaoyun were all left speechless, staring in disbelief.

There was no helping it. Yang Xiaofan’s ability was simply on another level.

It had reached a height far beyond anything the others could comprehend.

Everyone could sing, but achieving true excellence and mastery was something few people could do.

At that level, even an ordinary person could immediately hear the difference.

When the song ended, its lingering melody seemed to echo through the room, and everyone remained immersed in the performance.

Yang Xiaofan exhaled, lowered the microphone, and started walking back to his seat.

He had barely taken a few steps when Yang’s father and Qin’s father fixed him with sharp, piercing looks.

“What are you doing?”

Yang Xiaofan stared at them in confusion.

“Going back to my seat. What’s wrong?”

“Going back to your seat? You sing that beautifully, and you’re not going to sing a few more songs?”
