Chapter 110: The Script (Please Subscribe, Please Support!)
PS: Please don’t rush me. Starting tomorrow, I’ll update twice a day, and next Saturday, I’ll give you a massive explosion—ten chapters in one day!
The story begins in Cambridge in 2005. Several students passionate about space physics gathered regularly, endlessly debating the possibilities of space. One day, a student from China named Qin Ge proposed a strange formula. This formula sparked intense controversy within the small group. Some believed in it, but most opposed it, dismissing it as the wild dream of an idealistic Chinese youth.
After graduation, everyone went their separate ways, and the formula was all but forgotten—except by three individuals who continued to study it.
By 2009, due to ideological differences, the trio disbanded, leaving Europe and returning to their respective countries, as if they had simply vanished.
In 2014, reports began to emerge of mysterious disappearances. Numerous people vanished without a trace, and local police investigations over several months yielded no results.
Then, a tourist group disappeared entirely, instantly drawing the attention of the police department. A special investigation team was formed, and they uncovered a startling fact: over the past few years, more than five thousand people had vanished across several neighboring cities. Normally, this would be insignificant in the bustling Pearl River Delta, where the population exceeds twenty million—five thousand was just a drop in the ocean.
The police department took the matter seriously. Their investigation soon pointed to a multinational corporation as a suspect. Due to the company’s special status, the police escalated the case to the National Security Bureau.
The National Security Bureau responded swiftly, dispatching agents overnight.
But soon after, a tip-off reported a shooting. When police arrived, they were horrified to find the victim was one of the National Security Bureau agents who had arrived just the day before.
Two agents were involved—one dead, one missing—with the fatal wound caused by a sniper rifle.
The death of the agent transformed the previously lukewarm interest of the National Security Bureau into full-blown urgency. They poured over years of case files and uncovered many irregularities.
At this point, an abandoned cement factory came under scrutiny. It was once one of the country’s few large-scale high-grade cement production centers but had been shut down and dismantled due to environmental violations.
As investigators delved deeper, a corporate entity surfaced.
What they uncovered next was even more shocking.
The military intervened and sealed off the area.
But what followed surpassed all their expectations. The place seemed utterly lifeless.
To uncover the truth, the military dispatched a unit to investigate.
Upon entering the cement factory, they searched extensively and discovered a passage leading underground.
Before any reports could be sent back, the only sounds that emerged were gunfire and cries of terror.
Suddenly, the sky began to warp and twist.
While everyone was baffled, the distorted space opened, disgorging a massive horde of dinosaurs.
The dinosaurs attacked on sight. Within half an hour, the mountains were overrun.
The situation escalated rapidly.
The military sought to contain the outbreak, but it was too late. The dinosaurs surged into the city, and hell descended.
The military reacted quickly. The first rapid-response unit arrived at the nearest city, but it was already too late. Within hours, millions had turned the city into a ghost town. The streets were carnage, soaked in blood, strewn with severed limbs, and overrun by millions of dinosaurs.
Though efforts were made to suppress the news, information leaked worldwide. Many residents live-streamed the events, and while some might doubt a single video, tens of thousands painted an undeniable picture.
With modern firepower, the dinosaurs were decimated en masse. Tank divisions, artillery, and air forces in the hundreds of thousands formed tight blockade lines, sealing the dinosaurs within the affected area. Neighboring cities enacted emergency plans and evacuated entirely.
Hundreds of thousands had already perished in the jaws of these beasts. From government officials to ordinary citizens, no one dared speak out. Not even possessions mattered anymore; everyone wished they could sprout wings and flee this nightmare.
Meanwhile, more troops established tighter blockades. With overwhelming firepower, the dinosaurs could hardly stand against modern warfare.
Just when the military thought the worst was over, new forces emerged—Tyrannosaurs, pterosaurs, and triceratops appeared in droves. The aerial forces were decimated by vast swarms of pterosaurs; tens of thousands of flying creatures overwhelmed even organized helicopter fleets. Modern fighter jets, with limited ammunition, could only take down a handful before being forced back.
Planes fell by the dozens; though many pterosaurs also died, losses were too great. The air force was compelled to withdraw and regroup.
On the ground, massive dinosaurs fought back fiercely. Triceratops and Tyrannosaurs’ thick hides could withstand tank shells; dozens of shells were required to fell a single large dinosaur. In herds, they broke through steel tank formations, unleashing slaughter. Bullets were nearly useless against these giants. Rocket artillery retaliated but remained too feeble on such a massive battlefield.
The defensive lines collapsed in an instant. Panic gripped all. Within a hundred-mile radius lived over ten million people, and now evacuation was impossible. If these colossal dinosaurs broke through military lines, no one could bear the consequences.
Some proposed using nuclear weapons to bomb the area outright. But the idea was immediately rejected. Who would dare detonate nukes on their own soil? This wasn’t a Hollywood blockbuster.
As high-ranking officials struggled to find solutions, the National Security Bureau uncovered new information.
It turned out the strange formula had been used to build a spatial transmission device. This formula had existed for over a decade, dismissed by most, but a corporation believed in it. They invested massive funds—hundreds of millions over five years—to build the first practical device. The test results were staggering: the device opened a temporal portal back to the Jurassic period, sixty million years ago.
Just as the company prepared to capitalize on their breakthrough, the device malfunctioned and went out of control.
A researcher who escaped from one of the company’s secret bases revealed the truth in shock.
If the device truly lost control, the spatial portal would expand infinitely, potentially transporting the entire Jurassic era onto Earth. Imagine the catastrophic collision of two worlds.
The researcher’s revelations grew more alarming. In the Jurassic period, colossal monsters existed—some towering fifty to sixty meters tall, like mountains.
Before he finished, satellite images arrived, confirming the monstrous creatures lurking in the mountains.
The emergence of these new beasts sent chills down everyone’s spine. Large dinosaurs were already hard to kill; such gargantuan creatures could likely withstand an entire battalion’s assault.
The situation was dire. If unchecked, the spatial portal would keep expanding, flooding the world with dinosaurs and unknown monsters.
Destroying the device was imperative. But there were two major obstacles: first, an explosion powerful enough to destroy the core deep underground was required; second, the area was swarming with dinosaurs, and the skies blackened with flying reptiles, blocking any long-range attacks. The target lay hundreds of meters beneath the surface, beyond the reach of conventional firepower.
This was no ordinary problem. Nuclear weapons, unless in the millions of kilotons, were insufficient—and deploying such weapons was out of the question. No one would risk annihilating their own homeland.
Then, a plan for a multi-layered assault was proposed.
The first wave would use long-range missiles to eliminate aerial threats.
The second wave would launch surface-to-surface missiles to clear the area around the base.
Next, bombers loaded with bunker-busting bombs would attack, hoping to expose the core. Once exposed, nuclear weapons would be deployed to obliterate it.
However, calculations revealed a fatal flaw: the spatial portal severely disrupted the local magnetic field, rendering electronic devices useless. Missiles would lose guidance upon reaching the target zone, failing to detonate. Even timed explosives were ineffective.
Missiles were rendered useless, stumping everyone.
Then, someone suggested using the Interstellar Fortress Cannon.
The Interstellar Fortress Cannon was a massive weapon designed for future space defense, intended to be mounted on orbital fortresses. Though only half-completed, it was perfect for the task. Its colossal caliber—1,200 millimeters—and explosive power rivaled that of multi-megaton nuclear bombs.
Crucially, its shells were physical projectiles, immune to electromagnetic interference.
Yet another problem emerged: one cannon could not destroy enough. The missiles were still needed to finish the job.
Quickly, they devised a plan to deploy electronic jamming devices to disrupt the magnetic field temporarily, creating a brief window for the missiles to reach the core. This greatly increased their chances of success.
Reinforcements poured in. The counterattack began.
To support the assault, tank inventories were mobilized, forming a massive steel phalanx to engage the dinosaurs and draw their attention.
Thousands of kilometers away, in a remote mountain range, the great cannon emerged from beneath the earth, its barrel slowly rising.
Meanwhile, missile launchers prepared, missiles raised in silos, ready to fire on command.
