“Who did it?” Qin Yang answered the phone, his tone somewhat cold.

On the other end, Cheng Mu spoke bluntly, “After some interrogation, it seems to be a guy named Long Qiu Hu, along with a few spoiled sons from the capital. Apparently, they took Gao Xiaolan hostage because they fancied Qi Mengwei. But don’t worry, I rented a place right under your building. Their safety isn’t an issue.”

Qin Yang relaxed and said, “Alright, that’s a relief. Your main job is to run the security company and train a team of capable guards. Remember, you’re now a legitimate businessman, a company owner. Don’t get involved in illegal activities anymore.”

“Got it.” Cheng Mu knew their communication was under surveillance, so he had to be careful not to say anything incriminating. “I’ve already registered the company with the Bureau of Industry and Commerce, all the paperwork is done properly. I’ve also contacted two other unemployed guys at home who don’t want to work for others; they’re planning to help me out after spending a few days with their families. Also, that guy Dongfang Hao is in Haitian City too—turns out his family is here. We’re sharing an apartment. He’s opening a matchmaking agency. Looks like he wants to help us brothers find wives.”

“That’s great.” Qin Yang smiled. “I’ll let the brothers know. You guys do well.”

After hanging up, Qin Yang took a deep breath.

Back in his bedroom, he assigned one of the ghost soldiers trained for assassinations in the Middle East, named Benz, to go to Haitian City. Benz planned to sneak onto some transport vehicles. His mission was to protect Qi Mengwei and the others; Qin Yang simply couldn’t relax about their safety. Cheng Mu had many initial tasks managing the security firm, and although Ji Liehu would send some men to protect them, it would be covert and cautious. As for Dongfang Hao, running a matchmaking agency would keep him extremely busy at first.

With the safety of the three women resolved, Qin Yang headed to the gym to start training. He now set aside daily time to cultivate and steadily improve his strength. After all, his absorption of undead energy was capped at two hundred per day. Unless he could break through, which would take at least another week. Yet, perhaps not even that long—General Jiang’s condition wasn’t under his direct watch, and the chances of it worsening in the last seven days were high. In other words, Jiang could slip back into a coma at any moment within a week.

No tasks from Hell had been assigned yet; according to the butler, it was due to his current situation. So Qin Yang could only wait—wait for those seven days.

“Qin Yang, training too intensely can backfire,” Zhao Wu and the others lounged in a corner, sipping soda. “Take a break. How about a card game?”

“All you ever want to do is play cards. Did you know Dongfang Hao opened a matchmaking agency?” Qin Yang said sharply. “If you want to find a wife after getting out, then now’s the time to improve your image. If you keep acting lazy and careless, no woman will want you.”

“What? He actually became a matchmaker?” The others were clearly surprised.

Qin Yang shrugged. “Apparently, he really likes it. The agency will open soon, and he plans to help some of the brothers find dates first. If you want a good impression, you better learn from him. I’m different from you guys—still young and handsome, with plenty of beauties around. But you? Even middle-aged women wouldn’t look your way. Look at you all—no posture sitting or standing.”

“Damn.” They cursed in unison.

But Qin Yang’s words gave them motivation. During this time, they started paying attention to their appearance, hoping to find good wives and live well once free.

For several days, Qin Yang kept waiting for news, continuously practicing his punches.

That afternoon, a visitor arrived at the Black Prison, specifically requesting to see Qin Yang. When Qin Yang went out, he found Yan Xiaofeng sitting in the reception room, which puzzled him. He approached and asked, “What do you want?”

“Just came to see how you’re doing.” Yan Xiaofeng stretched and sat down. “This place isn’t bad, decent environment.”

“You can stay here a few days if you want,” Qin Yang said coldly. “Alright, spit it out. If you’ve got nothing, don’t waste my time.”

Yan Xiaofeng smirked teasingly. “Do you believe me if I say I’m just passing by and happened to drop in to see you?”

“I believe you.”

“Good.” Yan shrugged. “You know you’ll be out in a month, thanks to Liu Yan agreeing to Jiang Nanyan’s request. I’m not here to talk about her, but there’s another matter: in Haitian City, some careless fools tried to harass Qi Mengwei, but your men beat them into near cripples and forced them to confess their backers. I came to plead on their behalf.”

“Oh?” Qin Yang sneered. “Plead? Everyone knows I’m ruthless.”

“But not this time.” Yan fixed his eyes on Qin Yang with a playful smile. “You think you have a good chance to get out? The powers behind those guys have a say in whether you leave here. I’m trying to help you. If you cause trouble for them after you’re out, you might end up right back here.”

“You’re that kind-hearted?” Qin Yang lit a cigarette and asked.

Yan nodded. “Honestly, I admire you in many ways. But you shouldn’t oppose Jiang Nanyan. I’m here to deliver a message from him too—if you get out, you have to attend his wedding with Liu Yan.”

“Really?” Qin Yang tapped the table. “Is admiration really the only reason you’re being so kind?”

“Indeed.” Yan said, “And thanks for saving a friend of mine.”

“Hm?”

“Among the thirty-two hostages on the border, one is my best buddy. He might not know my true identity, but we’ve been close since middle school. So, I appreciate it,” Yan said earnestly.

“Then help me pass a message to Liu Yan and Jiang Nanyan,” Qin Yang smiled.

“What message?”

“That my fiancée can only be my woman,” Qin Yang said with a grin.

Yan shrugged. “What do you mean by that?”

“Nothing.”

“Alright, I’ll pass it along.” Yan said. “But I’m heading to Xinjiang soon. I’ll be back in the capital in three days and will deliver your message then. If I get mocked for it, I might not bring you any more messages—running back and forth is exhausting.”

Rising, Yan waved and left.

Qin Yang crossed his legs, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, deep in thought.
