“I don’t know, I’m not sure.” Zhou Yinhe didn’t want to say more.

Seeing his expression, the two stopped asking further.

Suddenly, the private room door was pushed open. Everyone inside turned their heads and paused in surprise.

The girls were stunned by the beauty of the girl at the door, while the two men showed more anger.

“Wen Ling?”

Wen Ling stood at the doorway, raising her hand in greeting. “Hi, long time no see.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Yinhe abruptly straightened and stared at the figure at the entrance.

Qi Zhan, known for his fiery temper, immediately stood up, furious and ready to storm towards the door, but Jiang Jibai held him back.

“Why are you stopping me? I’ve never hit a woman before, but today, I’ll make an exception!”

“Can you even look at Xiao Wu’s expression? Does he really look like he still loves her? If you go after Wen Ling, don’t be surprised if Xiao Wu turns against you,” Jiang Jibai warned, signaling him to look at Zhou Yinhe.

Wen Ling paid no mind to their displeasure. She extended a slender finger toward the man still seated on the sofa. “I’m here for him.”

Zhou Yinhe frowned sharply. “What do you want?”

Wen Ling approached with a graceful air, sidestepping the glaring Qi Zhan, and sat beside Zhou Yinhe. In a soft voice, she said, “I just got back. I heard this place is fun, and since I know you’re here, I came to say hello and chat.”

Zhou Yinhe pulled the beautiful girl standing close to him into his arms, then said to Wen Ling, “You’re disturbing me.”

Wen Ling blinked, smiling with curved eyes. “It’s okay. I can keep her company with you.”

Zhou Yinhe stood up, incredulous. “Say that again?”

Wen Ling crossed her legs, resting her chin on one hand, staring at him without changing expression. “I said, I can keep her company with you.”

Zhou Yinhe suddenly scoffed, pulling the beautiful girl closer and placing a hand on her waist mockingly. “I wouldn’t dare let Miss Wen keep me company. I have Yanyan, and that’s enough.”

Yanyan: My name is Ningning...

But she dared not speak up. She knew Zhou Yinhe was deliberately provoking the bright, flamboyant girl before him. However, since she had finally managed to get close to the precious young master of the Zhou family, she leaned in happily, wrapping her arms around Zhou Yinhe’s waist, and softly said, “Young Master Wu, let’s go. Yanyan has already booked a room at the hotel next door.”

Zhou Yinhe glanced at Wen Ling, then left with Yanyan.

Wen Ling’s heart ached as she watched them go. She knew well that Zhou Yinhe was intentionally trying to upset her. Even if he wanted to see someone, he wouldn’t casually bring just anyone. Yet, the pain in her heart was hard to suppress.

Seeing them leave, Qi Zhan sneered, “You really think he can’t live without you? Without you, there’s Ruan Miaomiao, and countless other girls lining up.”

Wen Ling glanced at him, then stood and laughed softly, gently stabbing back with a barb: “Has the eldest young master Qi caught up with Zhao Xingtang yet?”

“You—!” Qi Zhan was indeed provoked, about to step forward again, but Jiang Jibai stopped him.

Jiang Jibai coldly warned Wen Ling, “Miss Wen, we don’t know what you intend this time now that you’re back. Stay away from Xiao Wu, or neither the Zhou family nor we will let you off.”

Wen Ling curled the corners of her lips, then turned and followed after Zhou Yinhe, leaving Qi Zhan, fuming with hair almost standing on end, and Jiang Jibai, who eyed her like a venomous snake behind.

Just as Zhou Yinhe and Yanyan reached the bar’s doorway, he held her hand tightly, fearing Wen Ling would chase after them. Yanyan smiled freely, returning the proud smiles of her companions.

Sure enough, Wen Ling quickly caught up and placed a hand in front of Zhou Yinhe.

“Zhou Yinhe! You can’t treat others like this just to spite me!”

Zhou Yinhe had long calmed his racing heart, smiling lightly at her.

“Whatever I want to do with others, I don’t need you, Miss Wen, to control.”

Wen Ling pursed her lips and stepped closer, softening her tone. “Zhou Yinhe, can we have a proper talk?”

Zhou Yinhe flatly refused, “I have nothing to talk about with you. I told you before, after we broke up, we wouldn’t be together again. You said you wouldn’t regret it.”

Wen Ling cursed the author in her heart but appeared wronged on the surface. “I had my reasons back then; I just couldn’t tell you.”

Zhou Yinhe dismissed it as an excuse and left, still holding Yanyan.

Wen Ling caught up again, standing firmly behind him. “Zhou Yinhe, if you dare go to the hotel with her today, I’ll just pick up a man on the street and go too! I’ll book a room right next to yours, and let’s see whose cries are louder!”

Zhou Yinhe paused at her words and lightly replied, “Suit yourself.”

Wen Ling pouted, her eyes reddening, looking at his back with hurt. Her bodyguard hurried over to comfort her. “Miss, don’t be upset. He’s definitely just trying to annoy you.”

“You—follow him. Wherever he goes to a hotel, book every room there!” she ordered.

The assigned bodyguard wanted to question: what if the fifth young master of the Zhou family brings a woman home? Can I still buy his house then?

But seeing Miss’s pitiful expression, he could only nod repeatedly, “Alright, alright, I’m going now.”

The others looked at him with sympathy. He glared at them and ran after Zhou Yinhe.

Wen Ling calmed the anger stirred by Zhou Yinhe’s few words and turned to get into a car, calling the man far away in the United States.

The man, probably still half asleep, took a long time to answer. As soon as he picked up, Wen Ling’s tearful voice came through.

“How can he be so infuriating? Why do I have to try so hard to win him back?”

The man took a moment to respond, his voice heavy with sleep. “What have you done now? Didn’t I tell you to take it slow?”

Wen Ling pouted. “I couldn’t help myself.”

He said, “Even if you can’t help it, you have to. You can’t keep showing up in front of him; it’ll only make him rebellious. You didn’t come back to China just for him, right? Have you dealt with Ruan Miaomiao’s matters?”

“No…” Wen Ling snapped back to reality, realizing she had been so upset over Zhou Yinhe that she forgot other important things.

“According to the story you remember, Zhou Yinhe still thinks about you. Take your time there. Right now, Ruan Miaomiao is the priority.”

Wen Ling sighed softly. “I was so upset by him I forgot. I had someone check—there’s an anniversary celebration in two days. Ruan Miaomiao will surely go, so I will too.”

“Alright, finished talking?” The man seemed to turn over, making rustling sounds, speaking lazily. “Say no more, I’m going back to sleep. You called just as I was dozing off. I’m exhausted.”

Though the man couldn’t see her, Wen Ling rolled her eyes subtly and said, “Watch out for your health.”

He chuckled. “You should worry more about Zhou Yinhe’s health.”
