There was no overwhelming presence of a mighty power that instantly suppressed countless insignificant beings into nothingness. Although the destructive force was overwhelmingly intense, it did not annihilate the oak block immediately. Instead, it took a brief moment—just over one frame of time—before igniting and burning the block to destruction.

“This might suggest that when two different world laws conflict, the laws of the MC world still hold a higher priority!” Fang Zheng pondered. “This could also explain why, when I break a block and create a gap, the healing process pauses momentarily instead of repairing instantly before I can react, thus allowing me the opportunity to place a block.”

“Perhaps, as I once learned in class, the smallest scale of space and time recognized in human physics is called the Planck scale.”

“In the MC world I’ve crossed into, there are 120 frames per second, with each frame lasting 8.33 milliseconds. This represents the smallest unit of time; anything smaller simply does not exist there.”

“No matter how fragile a block is, even if it is destined to be destroyed, there is a minimum base unit of time during the destruction process.”

“I understand now!” Fang Zheng suddenly realized.

He then resumed striking the external matter, and during the brief pauses when the material began to heal, he sequentially placed various MC blocks for testing, including dirt, stone, metal, crafting tables, furnaces, bedrock, and so forth.

Sure enough, his hypothesis was correct.

Within two minutes of testing, Fang Zheng had uncovered some properties of this golden-red substance and its destructive effect on MC blocks.

Tests showed that blocks like wood and wood products, sponge, wool, and other flammable blocks in MC would be ignited and destroyed by the viscous rune chains emerging from the golden-red substance.

Stone, metal, glass, and tool blocks like iron felt would not ignite but could not be placed directly into lava as in MC. Instead, they were rapidly destroyed as if being struck by a player.

Blocks that could be ignited and destroyed did not drop items after being burned by the rune chains.

Blocks that could not be ignited but were destructible behaved as if the player was breaking them barehanded without tools.

Blocks like dirt dropped items normally, while stone and metal blocks, lacking the appropriate tools, disappeared upon destruction without dropping anything.

Small floating block fragments that dropped after destruction and fell into the viscous runes were destroyed in the next frame, much like being consumed by MC’s lava. However, before they were destroyed, Fang Zheng could absorb them back into his inventory by approaching.

Among these, only two block types were completely immune to ignition and destruction.

These were bedrock, which has no destruction option in survival mode and a hardness of -1, and the End portal frame, which players can cleverly break with pistons but cannot mine with a pickaxe.

There were also two special blocks—water and lava.

In the MC game, water and lava blocks are unique.

Theoretically, they have no physical entity; they serve as channels that endlessly flow out water and lava. Players can move freely within water and lava blocks but risk suffocation or burning.

Water blocks lack durability unless replaced by another block or when water contacts lava. They cannot be struck by tools and can only be collected with an iron bucket.

Lava blocks, once placed with a lava bucket, immediately turn into obsidian when touched by water flow. Except for the Ender Dragon and the Wither, no monsters can affect them.

Water blocks filled into gaps behave as if in MC’s Nether dimension—likely because of the high environmental temperature, they cannot be placed.

Lava, however, can be placed and forcibly occupy such gaps, preventing the rune chains from healing the void by overwhelming it with pure lava.

Yet, it cannot stop the rune chains from spreading into the lava block.

Fang Zheng also noticed that the rune chains entering the lava block were even ignited.

“That’s rather strange. Judging by the destructive power demonstrated by the White Tiger and Vermilion Bird, their suppression methods shouldn’t be vulnerable to ordinary fire damage,” he mused.

Fang Zheng watched the gap filled with lava blocks and saw the runes embedded in the golden-red substance, as if having found a new target, furiously coalescing and attacking the lava block.

Countless rune chains overlapped and twisted, resembling abstract symbols of birds and beasts, playing out a wild battle scene that raged inside the lava block, yet to no effect.

No matter how fiercely they attacked, it was like striking a vacuum. The lava block persisted, while the violently rebelling rune chains were all set ablaze.

“Apparently, lava’s burning effect on many MC blocks also manifests here.”

“If the burning lasts long enough, these rune chains might be burned down to zero durability and disappear. But judging by the absurd performance of the White Tiger and Vermilion Bird, these sealing energy crystals probably could contain even an exploding supernova perfectly.”

“Even if the lava can truly cause burning, to completely burn down their durability would take at least hundreds or thousands of years,” Fang Zheng pondered. “Since it’s confirmed that this substance cannot destroy bedrock or End portal frame blocks, should I try mining to obtain some of this material?”

Without hesitation, he took out a Netherite pickaxe from his inventory and began attempting to mine the golden-red substance.

With the sound of strikes, the golden-red substance instantly yielded a block gap, and the fragments vanished into thin air. “I forgot—in creative mode, mining ores or similar items with a pickaxe yields nothing. Only in survival mode can you gather blocks with a pickaxe.”

“However…” Fang Zheng waved his hand and struck a block gap barehanded again, then placed a Netherite block inside. He watched as it disappeared in the next frame. “Different pickaxes can mine blocks of different hardness. In MC, without special mods loaded, the strongest pickaxe is the Netherite one.”

“The Netherite block placed to fill the gap was also destroyed within one frame. This probably means that even if you could mine this substance, Netherite’s hardness is insufficient.”

“If I want to obtain this block, perhaps I need to craft a pickaxe from some advanced materials in this cultivation world?”

Fang Zheng struck another block gap and considered. After a one-frame pause, the viscous rune chains emerged to heal the gap. “Since this substance can destroy blocks like lava and behaves like a viscous fluid, can an iron bucket capture it?”

“Just like capturing lava, water, or milk.”

With a thought, he took an empty iron bucket from his inventory. As he struck the gap open again, he waved his hand before the rune chains solidified.

In the next moment, Fang Zheng stared at the pixelated golden-red substance inside the iron bucket in his hand, and noticed a brand-new pixelated iron bucket had appeared beside the lava bucket in his inventory.

The variety of materials in the inventory...
