Chapter 38 The Gap Between Them

Hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Jiang Tingting suddenly laughed. With a smile at the corners of her lips, she reassured him, “Senior Fang Zheng, although you are a friend of Senior Taiyin Human Emperor, you are not a cultivator, so you do not understand the disparity between them. Those flood dragons just now were merely at the level of Great Saints.”
“The Taiyin Moon Blade and the Human Emperor Seal are both imperial weapons of Senior Taiyin Human Emperor, an ancient Saint Emperor. The gulf between them is so vast that it is difficult to describe.”
As she spoke, Jiang Tingting turned her head to one side and casually raised a hand. Divine power gathered into an invisible palm that stretched outward.
In the next instant, a jagged mountain several thousand meters high in the distance was forcibly torn from the earth.
The enormous mountain hovered before Fang Zheng. Under the invisible hand, it was as effortless to knead as a brawny man squeezing a grain of rice between his fingers, and it shattered directly into dust.
The force of that repeated kneading, lasting only a few seconds, heated the mountain until it transformed into a colossal sphere of molten rock roughly a thousand meters in diameter.
With another gentle squeeze, she forcibly compressed the gigantic mass of lava, while faint Taiyin power chilled its heat. In an instant, the molten rock became a smooth, crystal-clear black sphere less than a thousand meters across.
It stood upon the earth like a vast black pearl.
Immediately afterward, she beckoned once more. A chirping sparrow from the forest dozens of kilometers away was forcibly seized and brought over, landing in her hand, unable to move.
Jiang Tingting then snatched a worm from the sparrow’s beak and said to Fang Zheng, “Senior Fang Zheng, the disparity between the Taiyin Moon Blade and a cultivator at the Great Saint level is countless times greater than the disparity between me and this worm.”
“So I truly was not deceiving you.”
Only then did Fang Zheng manage to relax. “That’s good, that’s good…”
He gazed at the flattened mountaintop in the distance, his heart still pounding with lingering fear.
“The flood dragons produced by that monster spawner are ridiculously powerful. Fortunately, no one was hurt. If I experiment again, I absolutely have to find somewhere uninhabited.”
His guilt came and went quickly. Having just confirmed that no one had been injured, Fang Zheng began letting his imagination run wild again.
“Great Saint level… I remember Taiyin telling me that experts at this level can destroy stars with ease, right?”
Fang Zheng found it somewhat unbelievable. “And now I can produce creatures like that whenever I want with spawn eggs?”
Back when he played games, Fang Zheng had loved using spawn eggs in Creative Mode to summon hordes of zombies, iron golems, and other monsters, then sit back and watch them fight one another.
“Now I can mass-produce Great Saint-level flood dragons and have them battle it out.”

“Heh heh heh…”
He chuckled several times without thinking, then his imagination began to wander again.
“This world is so vast. Could every animal capable of laying eggs be produced in the same way?”
“Come to think of it, does this cultivation world have dragon eggs, phoenix eggs, and things like that?”
“Heh heh heh. If I could get hold of them and turn them into spawn eggs, wouldn’t I be able to command a super-army made up of hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of divine dragons and phoenixes?”
“That would certainly look impressive.”
“But…” Fang Zheng began to feel troubled again. “Only a handful of animals can be tamed in Minecraft. If I spawn dragons and phoenixes, how am I supposed to tame them? What if they refuse to obey me?”
“How can I make them listen to me? Should I pay them wages?”
…
“Come to think of it…” He suddenly grew curious again. “What exactly is the difference between the flood dragons produced by a monster spawner or spawn egg and ordinary flood dragons from this cultivation world?”
“Do the flood dragons produced by a monster spawner have minds? Are they intelligent beings? What cultivation level do they possess? Can they continue cultivating, or are they completely like Minecraft creatures, with their health, attack power, and everything else fixed in advance?”
A string of questions sprang into Fang Zheng’s mind, leaving him unbearably eager to know the answers.
Fang Zheng asked, “Jiang Tingting, was that giant hand that seized the flood dragons earlier one of your family’s cultivators? Have those flood dragons been killed?”
At that moment, a voice entered Jiang Tingting’s ears:
“Since the friend of Taiyin Human Emperor wishes to ask, answer him. Treat him well…”
Hearing the sudden transmission from the Jiang family’s imperial weapon, the Hengyu Furnace, Jiang Tingting nodded and replied to Fang Zheng, “That’s right. The giant hand belonged to an ancestor-level figure of the Jiang family, the tenth-generation descendant of Hengyu Emperor. He is a cultivator of the third heaven of the Quasi-Emperor realm, named Jiang Wen.”
“Senior Fang Zheng, the five flood dragons you created do not seem to have died yet. Would you like to meet him?”
“Uh… is that all right?” Fang Zheng hesitated. “He is one of your family’s ancestors, after all.”
“Of course, Senior Fang Zheng. You are the Jiang family’s most honored guest. The Jiang family’s imperial weapon, the Hengyu Furnace, has already instructed us to satisfy all your requests as far as possible. Ancestor Jiang Wen will do the same.”
“Then let’s go take a look.”
…
A short while later, within a secluded secret realm of the Jiang family.

This place had been opened within the primordial chaos by the Jiang family’s forebears and could be called the most secret location in the entire family. Its entrance lay beneath the Hengyu Furnace in the Jiang family’s ancestral hall, guarded personally by that imperial weapon, which was currently in a state of complete revival.
Within the secret realm, the air was saturated with spiritual energy so dense that it had already condensed into mist. Rare treasures were scattered everywhere, while rivers of divine-source liquid, formed from condensed spiritual energy, flowed across the ground.
Pale spiritual mist coiled through the air. Within it, one could vaguely glimpse the indistinct phantoms of immortals dancing with swords.
On a stone table rested several teacups. Every tea leaf within them resembled a precious sword, divine saber, or ancient bell and cauldron. Their hues were like divine jade, and each gave off its own unique and wondrous aura of the Dao.
These tea leaves came from the Immortal Mountain, one of the forbidden zones of life. They were leaves from the Enlightenment Ancient Tea Tree, an undying medicine blown from the mountain by a storm of spiritual energy. Each leaf could allow a person to enter a brief state of enlightenment, making it an invaluable treasure capable of aiding cultivation.
Yet despite the tea’s extraordinary value, none of those present drank it.
Three people stood before the stone table.
One was a man with the bearing of jade and an unsurpassed elegance. He was the Jiang family’s strongest and most discreet contemporary genius, the current family head, Jiang Yifei.
Another was a woman whose features were as exquisite as a painting and whose beauty resembled the bright moon. She was Jiang Tingting, the possessor of the Taiyin Physique.
The third was an aged, stooped old man named Jiang Wen, an ancestor-level figure of the Jiang family and the tenth-generation descendant of Hengyu Emperor.
Although chairs had been placed around the stone table, all three remained standing. The reason was simple: Fang Zheng, who stood there with them, was a blocky figure incapable of sitting down. Out of courtesy, they stood as well.
Fang Zheng said somewhat sheepishly, “Um, everyone, please sit down. My body can’t sit, but you don’t have to stand with me. It looks a little strange.”
Once the three of them had sat down, Fang Zheng looked at Jiang Wen across from him. After hesitating for a moment, he apologized first, a touch of embarrassment in his voice.
“Er… I’m truly sorry. Those flood dragons earlier were created by me. I never imagined they would become so enormous, and they nearly caused casualties.”
“Old Mr. Jiang Wen, thank you for capturing them.”
Jiang Wen studied the blocky figure apologizing to him, his expression faintly peculiar. He wondered inwardly, “Wasn’t he supposed to be a friend of the Taiyin Saint Emperor? Why does everything about his speech and manner make him seem like an underage junior?”
He took a sip of tea. A gentle smile appeared upon his deeply wrinkled face as he said in a calm voice, “Senior Fang Zheng, you are being too serious. This was nothing more than a simple gesture. You are an honored guest of the Jiang family and need not apologize over such a minor matter.”
Fang Zheng paused, then continued hesitantly, “Um, those flood dragons… they haven’t died yet, have they? Can I take a look at them?”
The gentle smile remained on Jiang Wen’s deeply wrinkled face. He clasped his hands toward Fang Zheng and said, “Senior is an honored guest of the Jiang family. This junior will naturally fulfill your request.”
