Chapter 14: Shen Yanzhi's Doubt
Ten minutes later, Li Yi finished inspecting Shen Yanzhi’s phone.
Frowning, he asked Dang Ze, who had delivered the computer, to examine it as well.
Dang Ze was the head of the technical department. Although his position was lower than Li Yi’s, he graduated from one of the country’s top universities and was equally skilled in programming.
About ten minutes later, Dang Ze completed his inspection, and their findings were consistent:
“President Shen, we found no issues with your phone.”
Not only was the phone’s performance flawless, but even the hardware was nearly new, showing no signs of wear. There was no indication of any hacker intrusion in Shen Yanzhi’s device.
Inside the phone, Chi Yu let out a great sigh of relief.
She was truly remarkable!
Not a trace of her presence was detected!
At this moment, Chi Yu began to grasp the situation more clearly.
Her bizarre experience of ‘coming back to life’ had already surpassed ordinary understanding.
Therefore, even though she had become a piece of data, she was unlike conventional data, which explained why neither Li Yi nor Dang Ze had discovered her.

Dang Ze returned the phone to Shen Yanzhi.
Shen Yanzhi was somewhat dissatisfied with the outcome, but he showed no sign of it.
Only after Li Yi and Dang Ze left the office did he lower his head to gaze at his phone, his expression calm but deeply contemplative.
Chi Yu, who had just begun to relax, felt a sudden tightening of anxiety at Shen Yanzhi’s gaze.
She had an instinct that Shen Yanzhi didn’t fully trust the technical department’s report. Not that he thought they were lying, but he still suspected there was something wrong with his phone—something Li Yi and Dang Ze simply hadn’t found.
Chi Yu tightened her lips, resolving to be more cautious in the future.
Shen Yanzhi was clearly not the type to be easily deceived, especially given his exceptional abilities and keen intuition.
While cautiously hiding herself, Chi Yu also felt a twinge of guilt toward Shen Yanzhi.
Given his current status and position, the importance of his personal phone was self-evident.
To Shen Yanzhi, Chi Yu’s existence was like a sword hanging over an emperor’s head—an unseen blade whose fall was unpredictable.
Silently, Chi Yu apologized in her heart.
She would never do anything to harm Shen Yanzhi.

The phone inspection matter was temporarily settled.
After Shen Yanzhi’s doubt, Chi Yu acted with greater caution. Except for occasionally sneaking onto his phone when he was away to check Chen Jia’s online activities and to self-study programming, she otherwise remained obediently on the lock screen, staring blankly at the redeemable time balance.
During normal workdays, Shen Yanzhi usually left his phone on his desk. He only kept it in his pocket when traveling for business or meeting with other company leaders.
Struggling along, Chi Yu managed to accumulate less than ten minutes of time over several days.
Looking at the pitiful time balance, she sighed sadly.
At this snail’s pace, she feared she would never leave his phone until Shen Yanzhi’s hair turned white.
Many nights, while Shen Yanzhi slept soundly, Chi Yu longed to transform into a human so she could slip the phone into his bedding and retrieve it before he awoke in the morning.
But the risk was far too great, and the thought was quickly abandoned after only a brief moment of consideration.
