"Ah! Help! Don't come any closer!" The first survivor trembled with terror the moment he saw Mingchuan and his group.

"…Why are you so nervous? Don't worry, we're human beings—an expeditionary force from Europe."

"Expeditionary force? You scared me half to death! I thought you were devils!"

"And why would you think we were devils?"

"Because earlier, some of the devils disguised themselves as humans, luring unsuspecting people and turning them into devils too. That's why, no matter who calls out to us, we don't dare to come out."

"I see, so that's the reason!"

"And they even impersonate our own people, then one by one transform them."

"Luckily, devils and humans have a difference in body temperature, or else we wouldn't even know who's human and who's a devil."

"I suppose the others are hiding like I was—it might be hard to find them."

"Don't worry, we'll search together. Every extra person is an extra strength."

"Headquarters, we've found a survivor. Dispatch the helicopter for immediate extraction." After a while, the helicopter arrived, and most of the survivors had been found.

However, the devils' assault seemed to intensify.

"Damn, could this be their plan—waiting for us to gather survivors, then wiping us all out in one go?"

"The helicopter can't make too many trips, so we'll have to split into three groups. It'll take about fifteen minutes."

"What?" The whole team was taken aback, survivors included.

"It's fine, we just need to hold out a little longer. Let's do this!" Colt's spirits were high. Mingchuan, meanwhile, approached a member of the Fire Squad. "Hello, may I exchange weapons with you? My current weapon belongs to your captain—Andrew. He seems eager to have it back but is too embarrassed to ask."

"Of course, I'll entrust you with this 'Hawkeye.' I've always wanted to try the captain's weapon." After swapping weapons, Mingchuan slipped into a concealed spot.

"Mingchuan, why don't you fight openly if you have the guts? Hiding doesn't make you a hero!" Mingchuan ignored the taunt, silently taking aim at a giant's head. He squeezed the trigger—the first bullet pierced the giant's skin.

The second shot landed precisely where the first had struck, slicing open the flesh within. The giant, realizing it was under sniper attack, had no time to react before a third shot brought it down for good.

"What? Even a sniper rifle can take down a giant?"

"Not if you hit the forehead. But a shot to the cerebellum is fatal."

"That's because the skull blocks the shot—I'd have thought you all knew that!" At this, Tyron, who had been quietly observing from the rear, spoke up.

"Mingchuan isn't as clueless as you lot."

"What do you mean by that? Don’t think you’re safe just because you’re in the back—I can reach you."

"This…" Tyron faltered, well aware of Mingchuan's capabilities. "I'll be quiet now and focus on assessing combat strength." While they bantered, Mingchuan had already infiltrated the devils’ rear.

"Mingchuan, what are you planning? Our mission—"

"I know. We'll need to adjust our objective for now. Watch carefully, and learn from my previous tactics!"

"What are you up to?" Tyron asked as Mingchuan calibrated the Hawkeye rifle, then fired several shots at a giant.

"Well, what do we have here—a sneaky little rat trying to ambush us from behind. But you forgot the suppressor, didn’t you? Boys, come take care of this little vermin."

"Rat? I wouldn't be so sure who the prey is…"
