Chapter 127: The Wales Base
The meet-and-greet had not yet concluded when Trexi left the venue early. As for his reasons, he offered no explanation.
However, one person followed him back: Princess Miller of the United Kingdom.
"Come on! Can't you spare me a single glance? I am your sister, after all! Don't you have anything at all to say to me?" Throughout the journey, although they could not prevent Princess Miller from tailing them, His Highness Trexi and his adjutant, Roger, had ignored her entirely.
They had already begun planning for the United Nations General Assembly. This session was unlike those that had come before. Because it was an emergency assembly convened specifically to address the Satan crisis, only those nations still possessing the strength to oppose him were in attendance.
As for the countries that had already fallen, they held absolutely no sway. All they could pray for was that their territories might be preserved to some degree in the future, rather than being completely carved up by other powers.
"I told you I had important matters to attend to, didn't I? What good does it do you to follow me now?" Trexi said dismissively. As far as he was concerned, even though Miller looked exactly like Wenxin—or was, perhaps, the person herself—he was Trexi now, not Lei Mingchuan. Therefore, even if she were truly the person he once knew, his current identity had nothing to do with her. He only needed to focus on the upcoming UN assembly.
"Can't I just follow you?"
"No. It would only be a nuisance. With an outsider present, we cannot conduct our business properly."
"Do you consider me an outsider?"
"Yes, I do. Anyone who cannot follow orders is an outsider here. They have no need to participate in our operations, nor do they need to be privy to our plans." With that, Trexi turned around. No matter what his sister looked like, he had grown accustomed to such beauty and was no longer susceptible to her charm.
"But we haven't seen each other in so long. Can't we just talk? I mean..."
"You may follow, but you must obey my orders." At that moment, Trexi flashed his signature smile.
"You... Wales, what exactly are you trying to do?"
"To reclaim power, to give the United Kingdom an independent fighting force, and to free the United Kingdom from aristocratic politics." Trexi’s words were resonant and firm. "I know it will be incredibly difficult; no one is willing to surrender their power. But we do not need a purely monarchical society. We need a constitutional monarchy. The nobility is not everything in the United Kingdom—the law is!" Having said this, Trexi fell silent again. They opened a door in a secluded area, but as Princess Miller stepped inside, the scene before her was not the lonely broom closet she expected, but a vast, gleaming white room, bright and polished, yet seemingly devoid of guards.
"What is this place!?"
"The base of Wales. For the sake of security, we did not return via conventional routes. Even if I am Trexi, I still possess Cole’s abilities. Welcome to my home!"
