Chapter One Hundred Eleven: Cole Makes His Entrance—Demonstration of the Electromagnetic Cannon

Treysi’s disdainful words sent a ripple of shock through the entire hall. Discontented murmurs arose among the attendees, but no one dared to voice their complaints loudly, for it was the crown prince himself who had spoken.
“Does Prince Treysi really mean to say that the Royal Academy of Sciences can’t compare to just one person—Cole?” the common people wondered.
“How could our Royal Academy possibly be inferior to him?” Yet, the members of the Royal Academy thought differently. Proud as they were, although they acknowledged Cole’s strength, they refused to believe that his technological prowess had advanced to a level beyond the century’s scope.
“What’s so great about your Cole? I don’t believe a word of it!” a voice from outside the Welsh faction shouted loudly.
“I heard that!” Amid the wave of jeers, a voice suddenly emerged through the venue’s speakers, seeming to invade the sound system. The room fell silent. A snap echoed, and the screen changed abruptly.
On the screen appeared a young man with blond hair dressed in a plain white lab coat, wearing ordinary black-framed glasses. Beneath his seemingly mundane appearance was a face strikingly identical to Treysi’s, yet lacking any compelling aura. Still, those who knew recognized him immediately.
“Cole!” someone exclaimed. Those genius scientists from the Royal Academy could not fail to recognize that profoundly world-weary face.
“Treysi, you sneaked in and opened the communication line to provoke me; I’ll settle this with you another day,” Cole complained with displeasure upon seeing the scene. He removed his glasses, but as his fingers touched them, the glasses vanished instantly. This seemingly casual gesture amazed the others.
“Hello everyone! I’m Cole!” Cole greeted the audience politely, eliciting enthusiastic cheers from his devoted fans. “Cole!” “Lord Cole!” Though the scene did not descend into chaos, the atmosphere suddenly grew fervent.
“Oh dear! Looks like I’ve stolen your spotlight again, Treysi! But I’m still in the lab, so meeting you all in person isn’t so easy…” Cole joked, sensing the mood. Meanwhile, some young women continued to shout his name.
“Sorry everyone, although the crown prince’s words sounded exaggerated, I can actually do what he said,” Cole declared. His words stirred discontent among many men, and alongside the girls’ cheers, grumbles of dissatisfaction began to rise in the hall.
“If you’ve got the guts, come out! Hiding in your lab doesn’t count for anything!”

“Talk is cheap! Show us what you’ve got!”
…
“Oh dear! Seems like some people still aren’t convinced… You want me to come out? No problem! I hate it when people doubt my skills…” Cole replied rudely to the men’s jeers. Suddenly, the small space beside him blurred intensely. Treysi saw it too but didn’t care.
Cole turned and stepped toward the shimmering spatial distortion—a wormhole. The next moment, this greatest scientist in history appeared at the very center of the stage.
Spatial teleportation! The geniuses of the Royal Academy were dumbfounded. Teleporting unaided, without any instruments or devices? Could the Cole on stage be just a 3D projection?
But that idea was quickly shattered. Cole walked over to Treysi and embraced him like a brother, then shook hands with the host. His actions further ignited the enthusiasm of his fans. Teleporting instantly from his own lab to the stage—was this something a human could do? To them, it was a feat only a god could achieve, and now their idol could do it.
“Sorry about the disruption at this important military-political conference, coming uninvited as we Welsh do,” Cole said without hiding his affiliation. Yet Phelps thought otherwise.
“No, no, no! With you here, our viewership will reach unprecedented heights!” Phelps responded openly. The long-missing crown prince had appeared, and the celebrity scientist Cole was on stage—this would surely cause ratings to explode tonight.
“But I’m only here to briefly showcase some experimental results, so I won’t interfere too much!” Cole smiled after Phelps’ encouragement. “Don’t you all want to see me fire an electromagnetic cannon with my bare hands?”
A barehanded electromagnetic cannon? You really can? Hearing Cole’s words, the Royal Academy’s people broke out in cold sweat. If he succeeded, the Academy’s reputation would plummet to a historic low, while Cole’s fame would soar even higher.
“Cole!” “Cole!” “Cole!” “Cole!” The crowd’s cheers never ceased. The zealots dominated, but there were also hecklers. Yet all of them wanted to witness Cole’s miracle. Two years ago, Cole’s feats had shocked the world. Today, they had seen the miracle of spatial teleportation. Now Cole was about to demonstrate unprecedented power. The hall was completely under the Welsh faction’s control.
“Host, could I borrow a coin? I’m afraid the power might cause some injuries.”

“Oh, certainly!” The hall was already in chaos. This was a public event, so why not let the Welsh show their strength and redeem their reputation? Pleased, the host handed over a coin. Cole toyed with it as he began to explain:
“This is a one-penny silver coin. Guided by my electromagnetic accelerator, its effective range is about fifty to one hundred meters—something the Royal Academy could achieve with pistol bullets. But now, I will demonstrate the miracle of throwing this coin by hand. Beyond the effective range, even if it hits someone, the impact will be minimal. Now, I’ll shoot at the dome. Watch my gesture carefully!”
With that, the coin was lightly tossed and suspended above Cole’s head. He raised his hand and began a countdown: “Three! Two! One! Fire!” His thumb, index, and middle fingers suddenly spread apart, releasing an invisible force that shot the coin forward. A copper-colored light streaked toward the dome.
“Space, stop it!” Cole intoned like a spell. A crisp sound echoed in the high air. The copper coin seemed to strike something, then began to fall downward.
“Everyone, want this? I’m giving this one to you!” The copper coin floated before a young girl.
“It’s Cole’s token! Cole! Cole!” The girl was ecstatic. She caught the coin, stood up, and waved her hands high, fearing Cole wouldn’t see her otherwise.
“Got it! Take good care of it!” Cole replied to the girl. Behind him, the spatial distortion began to churn.
“Since the show’s over, I’ll be heading back!” Cole waved, seemingly greeting the girl and bidding farewell to the crowd. But before he could leave, Treysi grabbed him firmly.
“Enough! Since you’re here, don’t leave. Look at the chaos you’ve caused. Just stay and join us!” Prince Treysi stood beside Cole. If one looked closely, they would notice the two looked exactly alike. Yet no one seemed to realize it, as if Cole had deliberately erased that possibility.
“I… still have experiments to do…”
“Cole! Stay!” “Cole! Stay!” Hearing the chants from his followers, Cole hesitated. He was no longer just a miracle worker once, but a legend.
Seeing the crowd’s cries, Cole looked at Treysi, then glanced around, biting his lip. “Alright! I suppose I can stay!”
