When Liang Jinshang heard Shang Yucheng’s icy voice, her frantic heartbeat calmed down for a brief moment.

The next second, it was replaced by a surge of a different kind of anger.

Her heart raced and slowed like a roller coaster, filling her chest with an indescribable, suffocating frustration.

"Shang Yucheng!" Liang Jinshang hissed through gritted teeth, "Do you know you could scare someone to death doing this!"

She had just lived through that absurd incident of illegal entry that afternoon, and now, at night, he had broken into her home without a single sound.

Anyone with a slightly weaker nervous system would have passed out by now!

Shang Yucheng stood right in front of her, looking down with a condescending gaze at the curled-up shadow on the floor.

Liang Jinshang urged him, "Turn on the light!"

Shang Yucheng actually whipped out his phone and shone the flashlight right at her.

What was even more infuriating was that he ruthlessly kept the beam shining straight into her face!

Blinded by the harsh glare, Liang Jinshang couldn't even open her eyes. She raised a hand to shield her face and snapped, "Hey, Shang Yucheng!"

Shang Yucheng’s sharp eyes stared at her face. Framed in that tiny circle of light, with her hands covering most of it, only her mouth and chin were visible.

He lingered, refusing to look away.

Unable to bear it any longer, Liang Jinshang scrambled up from the floor.

She gave Shang Yucheng a push, intending to walk around him and head straight to her bedroom.

To her surprise, the next second, Shang Yucheng grabbed her by the waist, pulled her in with a heavy yank, and pressed her straight into his arms.

Just as Liang Jinshang started to struggle, Shang Yucheng tossed his phone aside.

With one hand holding the back of her head and the other gripping her waist, he kissed her without giving her any room to protest.

How was Liang Jinshang supposed to know he would flare up the moment he felt like it? She was still furious with him.

And he clearly had plenty of grievances against her as well, which explained why he had acted so maliciously just now!

Anger boiled in her chest, and she struggled with all her might.

Shang Yucheng, however, did not loosen his grip in the slightest. The kiss only grew deeper, pressing the air out of Liang Jinshang’s lungs until she was on the verge of suffocation.

Her lips were already injured, and under Shang Yucheng’s unsparing, punishing assault, a sharp, stinging pain flared up instantly.

Moreover, the stark difference in their heights forced her head back at an acute angle. Every part of her—from her lips to her neck, and down to her waist—cried out in a precarious, aching strain.

Liang Jinshang managed to lift her arm, intending to deliver a fierce slap across Shang Yucheng’s face, or at the very least, leave a few bloody scratches on it.

Yet Shang Yucheng had anticipated her move.

Unless he deliberately let her, her slaps generally never landed on his face.

Liang Jinshang’s chest heaved with rage.

However, because the front of her clothes had come loose during the struggle, the harder she panted with anger, the more it looked like she was offering herself up for his benefit.

His gaze grew progressively, outrageously unrestrained!

Liang Jinshang gathered the lapels of her clothes together with both hands. Shang Yucheng’s actions involuntarily brought back memories of the absurd ordeal that had taken place in this very apartment earlier that afternoon.

There was nothing romantic about it.

It was utterly nauseating.

Seeing the woman before him keeping her head down, wrapping her arms around herself, and trembling slightly,

he didn't take it as shyness or anger. He pinched her chin to force her head up and noticed how deathly pale Liang Jinshang looked.

Shang Yucheng’s brows furrowed slightly, and just as he was about to ask what was wrong,

Liang Jinshang shoved him away hard and bolted into the bathroom.

"Ugh..."

There was nothing left in her stomach to throw up. She hunched over the sink, dry-heaving for a long while before she managed to force down the sickening wave of nausea.

She cupped some water in her hands to wash her face, and when she raised her head, she caught sight of Shang Yucheng leaning against the doorframe through the vanity mirror.

His expression was dark and cold, and a brewing tempest of anger lurked deep within his eyes.

Shang Yucheng let out a cold, mocking sneer, "Do I disgust you that much?"
