Liang Jinshang’s soft complaint just barely reached Shang Yucheng’s ears.

He retorted, “If I had already prepared that thing, would you still agree?”

Liang Jinshang tapped his hand wrapped around his shoulder and glared, “No!”

Bringing the tools of the crime to his door was just too blatant—such a crime deserved condemnation.

Shang Yucheng chuckled. So what? He clearly didn’t know her at all.

He lifted her up, cradling her in the crook of his leg, his other hand still strong enough to reach for the door.

The problem was, Liang Jinshang truly didn’t want to leave this apartment for even a minute.

Seeing how determined Shang Yucheng was, trying to stop him with force was useless, so she softened her approach.

“Shang Yucheng… Yucheng…” With both arms around his shoulders, she pressed her cheek against his side face, playing the pitiful card.

“I really don’t want to leave. I have to sleep here tonight, or else I’ll sleepwalk back.”

“I really won’t let you off,” Shang Yucheng said coldly, proving that a man’s stubbornness at times like this was unyielding. “If you still have the strength then, you can swim back.”

With that, he slammed the door shut behind them and carried Liang Jinshang toward the elevator.

Liang Jinshang: “…”

What a scoundrel.

So this is what it feels like when all your emotions instantly crash down.

The delicate charm that had been so irritating on her face vanished, replaced by a helplessness that drained her soul.

She looked longingly at the door to her home, like the Weaver Girl forcibly taken back to Heaven by the Queen Mother.

Tears began to fall.

That night, once Shang Yucheng had forcibly activated her “tears” function, her tear glands suddenly malfunctioned, streaming faster than ever.

Though she made no sound, Shang Yucheng noticed the sudden rise in humidity around him and sensed something was wrong.

He groaned in frustration and, for once, sighed, “Jinjin, you can’t repay kindness with ingratitude and deliberately torment me, okay?”

Hearing this, Liang Jinshang finally relaxed her pout and protested, “I never said I wasn’t willing! I’m willing! I just want to be here. Since you’re happy for me and even found my old house, why won’t you let me enjoy it fully? You’re the one deliberately torturing me!”

Who was really torturing whom?

At least Shang Yucheng, as a man, felt he was enduring inhuman torment.

Not only was his body tormented, but his heart as well.

After listening to Liang Jinshang’s unreasonable crying, his pleasure in their closeness had mostly dissipated.

“Ding!” The elevator arrived, but Shang Yucheng pulled a corner of his mouth into a weary smile, turned around, and walked back, still holding her.

“Open the door.”

Liang Jinshang opened the door and stepped inside, barely feeling joy before she saw Shang Yucheng had no intention of entering.

Nervously, she asked, “Aren’t you coming in?”

“I’d like to,” Shang Yucheng said coolly, “but do I dare?”

Liang Jinshang: “That’s not what I meant…”

But that was exactly what he meant. He sneered, “You don’t have protection, taking medicine hurts, and you still ask me if I’m coming in. Liang Jinshang, you have a record here. I won’t give you another chance to get rid of my child. If you try that again, depending on how you do it, I’ll make sure you regret it.”

Liang Jinshang could understand the torment of a man with an arrow at the ready who couldn’t release it, but his harsh words drained the color from her face.

Though the miscarriage wasn’t real, the heartbreak he inflicted on her back then was all too real.

Did he think he was the only one hurt in that incident?

She lowered her tone, “Actually, when you said you wanted to pursue me, when you gave me the house, you were thinking only about this, weren’t you?”

Compared to the million last time, maybe she should be glad she was becoming more valuable.

Shang Yucheng had no time to argue, sarcastically throwing out, “No need for thanks. I gave you this house just so you’d learn to use tears against me overnight.”

He left decisively, and Liang Jinshang’s heart felt hollowed out.

Why did the ancients use wind, flowers, snow, and moon to describe love? They were all such fleeting things.

No matter how beautiful, it was just a moment.

Liang Jinshang reentered her home.

Her earlier ecstatic joy and tearful gratitude had turned into a strange melancholy because of Shang Yucheng’s coming and going.

She sighed and forced herself to walk around, trying to distract her mind.

Returning to her former bedroom and turning on the light, she suddenly saw a robot standing by the bed.

It was the first new thing she noticed in this home.

The robot sensed the light and moved toward Liang Jinshang.

It circled around her plumply, playing a sound effect: “Baby, welcome home! Welcome home!”

Though the voice was the coldest electronic tone, Liang Jinshang couldn’t help but make a small sob.

Shang Yucheng must have put the robot here because he wasn’t good at cheering her up.

Perhaps, according to his plan, the two of them were supposed to be playing with the robot together at this moment.

Liang Jinshang suddenly felt a bit regretful.

This house wasn’t going anywhere. What if she came back tomorrow?

At the very least, she could get him to stay and order someone to bring her a box of things!

Realizing what she was thinking, she fanned her flushed cheeks and grabbed her phone to call Shang Yucheng.

She didn’t care who gave in first or who lost; all she knew was that she still wanted to see him!

Though she wasn’t sure when Shang Yucheng had dug up all the details of her past.

At this moment, undoubtedly, the only person who knew her past was the best one to share her feelings with.

“Beep—beep—”

The call wouldn’t connect. Biting her finger, Liang Jinshang paced anxiously.

She had to find him!

With that thought, she couldn’t stop herself anymore, changed her shoes, and rushed out.

She burst out of the residential complex and, before she could reach the roadside to hail a car, she spotted a Cullinan parked nearby.

Fireworks exploded in her mind. She yanked open the passenger door and climbed in.

Prepared for cold words and being kicked out, she met only a pair of deep, calm eyes.

Shang Yucheng looked at her expressionlessly, and Liang Jinshang felt fearless.

Her eyes shone brightly as she looked at him, “Shang Yucheng, I haven’t even said thank you yet! This has been the happiest day of my life! You created this happiness for me! Thank you!”

Shang Yucheng remained indifferent and silent.

But Liang Jinshang’s gaze had already landed on the plastic bag on the console.

So he had just gone to buy something.

It seemed that even if she hadn’t come after him, Shang Yucheng had no intention of “letting her go.”

This realization lifted the corners of her mouth. She extended the word “Oh—” teasingly as she looked at him.

Unable to bear it any longer, Shang Yucheng grabbed the back of her neck and pulled her close.

He sealed the mouth of this fearless, shameless creature with a fierce kiss.
